Its 24.3MP resolution (approx.) is ideal for gallery-quality stunning large-format prints. Razor-sharp alignment of the sensor and optical components brings out the full potential of the lens to the very edges of your photos. Focus on the details. Carl Zeiss lens expertise meets Sony optical precision in a sophisticated large-aperture lens offering remarkable brightness reminiscent of the sun. The design of this lens includes a slim advanced aspherical (AA) lens element of micro precision that delivers stunning image sharpness and brightness while contributing to a short lens barrel. High-fidelity image processing engine. From vivid colors to smooth skin tones, every nuance of your scene is reproduced throughout an extremely wide dynamic range with BIONZ image processing engine. Even processor-intensive tasks are handled with speed and precision, including 5 fps continuous shooting at full 24.3 effective megapixel resolution, 14-bit RAW and high ISO shooting. Amazing low-light performance. Experience incredible low-light shooting without a flash. The camera captures six images in a fraction of a second. Combining the data from all six, it creates a single image with a reduction in noise equivalent to two additional steps of ISO sensitivity. Sensitivity selectable up to ISO 25600 (recommended for still subjects). High speed Auto Focus. Focus fast as with high speed AF. To improve focusing speed and sensitivity, the Exmor CMOS sensor uses its rapid throughput to deliver high-quality image signals to the camera's BIONZ processor, which provides intelligent response data to a new high speed actuator motor in the lens.     Sony RX1R - excellent camera and great value, even in 2021

    An older model that still cuts it!... I bought the RX1R as it is a full frame with a top-quality lens, so far I love the image quality. Built like a tank with premium components, the model I purchased is literally like brand new, although s few years old I suspect the shutter will outlast my use. Compared to buying a newer model compact this camera maintains it's value.

    Best Compact Full Frame Camera

    Best compact full frame made. VERY sharp, very contrasty, excellent dynamic range, only a small amount of chromatic aberrations remaining after correction. I prefer the built-in flash over the dinky, poor quality pop-up viewfinder on the Mark II model.

    Best of it's kind

    The lens is spectacular. Excellent auto-focus. With the optional EVF viewing is magnificent. Totally quiet shutter. While lacking interchangeable lenses it is a very compact, high quality camera at a tolerable price. I have owned two. I've not found anything superior (except for interchangeable lens) but I learned photography as a one-camera / one-lens experience and find this most suitable. The one lens is of highest character, an important detail. The silent shutter is something I've had on several cameras and I always find it wonderful.
