With the need to carry and transfer computer files today, portability has become key. Instead of floppies, we have USB drives and Sd cards. This is an excellent example of MP3 convergence. With MP3 players in everything these days from PDAs to mobile phones, more and more people are listening to their favorite tunes wherever they are. The Samsung YP-U2 has a very petite form factor; I don't even notice it in my shirt pocket. The sound is phenomenal and you have a multitude of user controlled equalizer settings. The controls are very easy to use and the hold slider keeps you from accidentally changing settings. The display is very easy to read, and the the blue led lighting is fun to play with. It is also great as a little flashlight. To interface with your computer NO additional ... With the need to carry and transfer computer files today, portability has become key. It couldn't be simpler: just drag and drop your files onto the device and off you go. You can also sync with WMP10 with playlist support. This is a more fully realized design, reminiscent of the old Creative MuVo MP3 players, with the addition of a larger display, rechargeable battery, and no separate dock needed for MP3 playback. It runs circles around the Ipod Shuffle: the YP-U2 has the aforementioned display, FM tuner, and voice recorder. With a few simple controls: four way navigation plus enter/menu button on the front, play/pause/power and user defined button on the top and a hold slider next to the headphone jack on the bottom, you can put this player through its paces. It has many standard features- play by artist, album, genre, etc. and some extras-how about play speed from .7x to 1.3x? I only have a couple of cons: so far it has put all my music into alphabetical order for straight play and it is a bit thicker than some USB drives so it may be too tight for crowded or recessed USB ports. The addition of a case or clip would make it much more handy if you didn't have a pocket to spare.

I love my little 1 GB player, it is easy to transport and a no-brainer to use with Windows Media Player and the screen makes it way more user friendly than the iPod Nano. The drawback is that it is hard to get certain audio media to it especially books from download. So your option becomes buying books in audio format and then using rip and sync. Most book download sites are set-up for the iPod, I personally love the one-stop option of straight download. I like that it's small and easy to carry in my pocket. And the LED screen makes it easier to read the song menu. There is one major issue with it: When you come to the end of a song and you didn't pick it from the Track list, the Player will automatically turn off. I've tried to find a way to fix this problem through the menu but it seems you cannot turn this action off. The caps are easily lost so keep track of after downloading or recharging.
