    Great Portable GPS

    I have a significant hearing impairment and never thought I would be able to hear and understand what a GPS was directing me to do. Both the male and female voices are at a frequency level that I can clearly understand. It's fairly easy to program and use, I actually got lost on surface streets recently trying to avoid a traffic jam on CA78, I had no idea where I was. I reached into my glove compartment, pulled out the nuvi 1450, turned it on and pressed the home button, it took me right to my front door. The screen is big enough to see and follow and beats the heck out of a smart phone. You can use it walking, driving or riding a bike. They also have maps for flying and boating on several thousand lakes. I'm more than happy with it.

    Great Unit.

    I just purchaced the garmin nuvi 1450t and it works great out of the box. It picked up the satelite quickly. The entire display is updated with much smoother lines and richer colors, and easy to see in the dark or at full sun light. The cigarette lighter power cord isn't the greatest, its too big and it sticks out about 6 to 7 inches it shoud have a smaller knob, this was the biggest dissapointment for me. But so far the unit works great even with out updating it. Easy unit to work with out of the box, just by playing with the settings and changing the unit too you prefferences.I especially liked the ease of which I could scan for restaurants, gas, and any other point of interst closest to my current location.     Frustrated with new Garmin.

    I have had a Garmin in the past and loved it. I decided to buy the new upgraded model and gave my old one to my daughter. The new one we just purchased does not show the upcoming street names like the old one did and when we put our home address in just to see how it works...it wants to take us an hour out of our way instead of directly home from town, which should only take 15 minutes. Frustrating.

    great tool to have.

    great resource. i get disoriented very easily, this simple operating tool helped me a lot.. I ve been seeing people using Garmin for a couple of years and I'm not so interested in owning one. I thought it's complicated to use. I bought one to try and this is awesome. Simple and informative. I wish there is a clock display on it while it's telling you your arrival time. I will recommend this to friends and family who gets lost easy simple operation and self explanatory with prompts. I like the 3d orientation that points exactly where you're heading and what the next street/intersection coming up so you get prepared to get on right lane. this summary does not have to be this long to post either. 50 characters should say it all.     Very good, but for long trips.

    This navigator for a trip about the country and to the city has acquired. A primary estimation - it is good. There are many questions on work FM traffic receiver. Very often information received on it, is late. The information that there is a difficulty of movement of a car often arrives, and the problem has dared for a long time already, or there is a difficulty of movement, but it doesn't register yet this device. For long travel between cities and the countries – it is very good. For travel to big cities, I would prefer the device with the GSM/GPRS-module, for correct display of difficulties in car movement.
