Originally released as a concert film at an ancient archeological site in Pompeii, Italy, it was expanded to an hour-and-a-half film to feature interviews and Pink Floyd's studio sessions. It begins and ends with a composition of echoes taken from the album "Meddle." The setting of the video includes daylight shots and scenes of volcanic destruction by night. It features interviews that were recorded in 1972 during the recording of the album "Dark Side Of The Moon." Some of the tracks featured in this 82-minute version include Careful With That 'Axe Eugene', 'Mademoiselle Nobs' and 'A Saucerful Of Secrets'.

Pink Floyd and rock and roll
I have always been a fan of rock & roll. I enjoy listening to many classic rock artists. To discover not only audio , but video documentation of the rock group Pink Floyd. I never knew such a film existed and had to purchase it for my collection. To see Pink Floyd today is to remember four lads in there prime. Growing old and moving on with there careers. This film captures there early years when experimentation was free and adventurous. What I thought at first was going to be a concert on Pompeii turned out to be the ultimate arena for testing sound against a back drop of an ancient stone theater. It is brilliant from a stand point of visual theater. A documentary with no real thought of the future. Just the time at hand. A marvel of film history.I have always been a fan of rock & roll. My favorite Pink Floyd film
The original film is so much better than the redux version on dvd. Glad to have a copy on vhs again! :)

Pink Floyd - Live at Pompeii
A must for any true Pink Floyd fan. Great live material shot on location in a amphitheater in Pompeii. This great trip explores the older songs plus takes you through the song writting process of their best selling LP Dark Side of the Moon.

Pink Floyd rules!!
simply amazing video and a total trip. Pink Floyd never disappoints and is one of the best all time bands. tottaly recomend this for anyone who is into to great psychedelic music.
