Hopefully, no more after the next one, let it RIP
Upscales better than previous Stargate Atlantis box set, but can see why this never completed the second series. Format differs from previous Atlantis, as in, the 'base' being a ship that bounces in and out of drive romping through the universe, that (bit by bit) they try to unlock/understand with having to decipher an old alien language, mainly via a teenager that has been 'pressganged' by the USAF that is basically a games/maths genius (thats the script, not me!), and a sulky scientist (oh Mr Carlyle, youre better than this!), stopping against the clock, sometimes to see if any planet is near enough to inhabit, then sometimes not. If you have followed SG-1 and Atlantis, you will no doubt arrive at my conclusion that this is more the 'thinking mans Stargate', if you like. No real gun ... No real gun fights or sfx shoot outs like the other 2 series, nor humour for that matter, in fact if youve seen both SG-1 and Atlantis full series, you will spot many rehashed scripts used in this SG-U series. Second series opens the characters a bit more, but this smacks of repeated writing and a home for many ex-scifi actors from other scifi films and series. Got both SG-U series, watched both, and to be honest, even though best actor (being Robert Carlyle) in it couldnt save it. If this whats become of Stargate, please let it rest. I read somewhere that if the 2nd season had been completed, there were plans for a follow up movie? On this offering, im glad it didnt, because, based on this, it would have flopped miserably, and thats the view of a fan? Hopefully after season 2 it will be RIP Stargate...

Great Series
Great series. I have watched all of the SG1 series, & this is a great follow on. I have watched season 1&2 on the TV, but had to buy my own copy's so I can watch them as many times as I want.
