I purchased this book because I wanted to read "the real truth about Elvis Presley" from those who knew him best....his family....not the sensationalism, fabricated opinions of those out there with their needs to make money on the name of Elvis Presley. I found this book to be candidly and genuinely written, with warmth, openness, love and compassion about a man who lived his life for "his family" and "his fans", both of whom loved him genuinely in return. This is, by far, the BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ ABOUT ELVIS, because it is written "with hearts filled with love" for the generous, kind-hearted, genuine human being, and God-given talented musical artist of all time. I also want to make note that Elvis Presley never wrote a book about anyone, never made a public statement against ... I purchased this book because I wanted to read "the real truth about Elvis Presley" from those who knew him best....his family....not the sensationalism, fabricated opinions of those out there with their needs to make money on the name of Elvis Presley. I found this book to be candidly and genuinely written, with warmth, openness, love and compassion about a man who lived his life for "his family" and "his fans", both of whom loved him genuinely in return. I also want to make note that Elvis Presley never wrote a book about anyone, never made a public statement against anyone, never openly critized anyone, nor ever made a statement about his political preferences, yet hundreds of people have written anything and everything about Elvis Presley to capitalize on his name. I want to read "truths" NOT "trash"! Elvis was like all of us....human....with weaknesses and strengths, but he was also "a man who gave of himself to others", "who shared his wealth", "shared his talents", and "took from no one nor hurt anyone". Elvis Presley never deserved the cruel lies and opinions written against his name. One day....some day....those people will, too, be judged....... Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

Elvis,Precious Memories is a story of Elvis' early childhood and of course his rise to stardom, becoming the biggest star in the world. As everyone has read and reread his story, where he started and how it all ended, this story does allow the reader to know how he was when he was home, at his beloved Graceland, with the family he cherished. We all have read of his giving heart, but his family share their private happy and sad memories and give us, the readers, an insight to Elvis as a son,father,grandson,nephew,and cousin.Elvis,Precious Memories is a story of Elvis' early childhood and of course his rise to stardom, becoming the biggest star in the world. As everyone has read and reread his story, where he started and how it all ended, this story does allow the reader to know how he was when he was home, at his beloved Graceland, with the family he cherished. A true account of life within the Presley family. Donna Presley's part of the book was the best but the book is well worth the money!

I've heard negative things about this book but I really liked it. The negativity is not deserved. The authors do add things previously unknown to the Elvis narrative. All Elvis fans should read this book.
