  • Probably the single best 3D Sonic game.

I liked the slight consolidation of genres from the previous entry in the series, that one tried to do too many things and did most of them quite poorly just to showcase the Dreamcast's then awe-inducing processing power and many of the system's features (like the Chao characters introduced in order to support the Visual Memory Unit by slapping a Tamagotchi knock-off into a 3D platformer). It's much tighter, speedier, less buggy, runs much more smoothly and generally has better collision detection and camera work (save for some punctual sections in some stages, like the narrow corridors in Aquatic Mine), and in some aspects it's also more challenging than the first Adventure. I disliked the lack of enemy variety between stages; the "recycling" of multiple ...

  • Excellent Sonic Game! My favorite.

I have played this game a couple months after it came out in 2001. I still love it, to this day. SA2 is a visually great improvement compared to the first Sonic Adventure. The gameplay is also very smooth and more easy to handle. One thing I do miss is the change of formula for the treasure hunting stages. The music is incredible, my favorite part of the game. There's a wide range of genres and vocal tracks, it really gives the stages and characters more depth. The story is very mature and is more put together, the characters have tons of personality, and I love the upgrade to Chao world! The Chao Adventure 2 minigame for the VMU is hilarious! I love it more than the first Chao Adventure. I would definitely recommend anybody who wants to play a Sonic game to get a copy of Sonic Adventure ...

  • Above Average,

This game is above average. The Sonic and Shadow stages are the best in the entire game. These stages are the most creative and can offer multiple routes at times to help you reach the goal. Usually they are very fast paced and look amazing. Tails and Eggman stages can get repetitive and are very straightforward. Knuckles and Rouge stages are kind of open areas that you treasure hunt in. Some are kind of small and others are kind of vast. They are generally not too exciting and can be tedious. The Chao World is not too bad. It is slow and it takes a lot of chaos drives for Chao to have decent abilities. Raising Chao to win races can take quite awhile. The controls are mostly accurate. Sometimes the game can mess up at times and ignore or misread your controller inputs. Example, when ...

  • Is it Better then the first?

Well to say the least it is a very great sonic title. I was only looking for sonic One at first and well i found out there were two. So i got both. Yes there are still parts of the first one i would of liked to see in S2 (sonic adventure 2. Mostly the walking around like a real Rpg. Talking to people on the streets. and the selection of characters. Yeah s2 does have a good guy bad guy choice but sonic and dark sonic runns fast. Tails and eggman are shooters.and Rouge and knuckels are treasur hunters. the only good thing about sonic two is the CHAO GAMES!!!! they are a lot less complicated and fun. But the Vmu game sucks compared to the first one. its not as engaging. all in all if you had both Sonic 1 and sonic 2 its great to swich between the two when you get bored with the other or stuck ...

  • This is the best sonic game ever made, you NEED to get it.

Ten years seems like a long time when you think about it, but like the incredible speed of our favorite hedgehog, it seems like a moment ago in video game history. I can still remember with great clarity the delight when I first punched in the cartridge to Sonic The Hedgehog on my Genesis, marveling at the wonderful colors, the blazing speed, and of course, the attitude of our impatient blue devil. In those 10 years that have past, SEGA has gone through some mammoth changes but none bigger than what has taken place this year. SEGA has gone from small start up, head gamemaster of consoles, deceiver of its devoted followers, and now, the upcoming underdog. Sonic has changed as well from its simple 2D platforming roots, seeing its share of wonderful innovation (remember, the Sonic & Knuckles ...
