it is what it is
where do i start? This amp is an expensive way to add a powerful sound system in a small place. i used this amp in a small ford ranger standard cab. I have an alpine media head unit (ipod/mp3/am-fm only) alpine pxa-h100 sound processer, (4) alpine sps-507 5x7 full range speakers, 1 alpine type s 10" sub and of course i use the alpine-pdx-4.150 amp to power everything. From day one i noticed how powerful the amp was but more importantly i was able to use the two front channels of the amp to power my (4) 5x7 speakers and the two rear channels have been bridged to power my sub. Though my system is powerful i would have to say that i will never install another alpine soundsystem. the full range speakers are too powerful and hurt my ears and the amp shuts down at really high volume. ... where do i start? Though my system is powerful i would have to say that i will never install another alpine soundsystem. the full range speakers are too powerful and hurt my ears and the amp shuts down at really high volume. alpines tech service is pretty good and there products are well built, but when it comes to clear crisp sound I have heard cheap pioneer systems sound just as good. my next stereo will be a pioneer deck, fosgate amps, eclipse full range speakers, and JL subwoofers. though it is cool to have all your equipment match brands the sound quality is less rewarding. last but not least MAKE SURE YOU GO TO A DEALER AND LISTEN TO EQUIPMENT BEFORE YOU BUY ON EBAY! I could have spent a lot less on an amplifier and speakers buying different brands, i made the mistake of thinking a complete alpine system would be a premium setup...... WRONG! try all brands!!!!

PDX-4.150 Kicks A**
I worked in the car stereo field for years and have heard and owned my fair share of different systems with different equipment. I am running Alpine SPX-F17T 3 way components and a set of SPX-F 2-way components in the rear. I first ran them off the deck and they sounded great, but lacked tight mid-bass and couldnt push the higher frequencies. I was skeptical about the PDX series amps due to there size and that they were a new line of Alpine products. I installed the amp and all i can say is WOW. The speakers SING! Now let me say that i do have a high end deck with high end cabling and I ran 0g wire to the rear of the car and distributed it to 4g. Very clean amplifier. Im not a fan of the crimp down speaker terminals and there is a hissss in the 12k frequency range (easily corrected with ... PERFECT AMP PERFECT PRICE!
This amp is the best 4 channel out there! It is pushing actual 180watts RMS x 4 in a 2ohm or 4ohm load same output! Whats even greater is the amp doesn't ever get hot or even warm for that matter! I love this amp and they are even stackable and they are fanless bc I can't see one nor hear one lol. The hookups are near perfect except for the power,ground, remote wire parts, they are angled downward so if you have your amp drilled down already before you have the power supply hooked up, it can become difficult bc it barely holds the 4 gauge wires in a snug like way. But for the speaker terminals they just plain rock this world! Must use a tiny allen wrench though but its worth it bc it has a huge area for speaker inputs up to 10 or 12 gauge. So you can stack your alpine PDX-600.1 Class D Subwoofer amps on top of your PDX-150.4 Class A/B Amps like I have done and not waste any extra space and totally shock the world! :) A+ Alpine!

Good power and better sound.
I bought this amp to replace a Alpine KTP, and to power a set of Alpine SPX-17 Pro. It is amazing. The clean power this amp delivers is unprecedented, I have never had an amp for my highs deliver so, nicely! You would think I had new speakers installed as well. I must warn you, if you have any engine noise, get it fixed prior to installing this amp. I had a tiny bit of whining, (picked up at HU) since I replaced my plugs and wires. (used cheap stuff) It wasn't enough to bother me, with my old amp. With this amp, it became unbearable, I had to take care of the problem immediately with new wires and plugs. top of the line
at the ebay price this top of the line alpine amp is awesome. very clear and crisp. I have mine pushing 2 alpine type s 5x7/6x8 component sets aswell as a type s 6.5 component set and they get down even with my gains like 3/4 the way up. if you get it in your local store you will pay an arm and a leg but in a good ebay store it is a steal. granted if something does go wrong you cann't just bring it back to the store you got it from but I think it is worth it to save like $200-$300.at the ebay price this top of the line alpine amp is awesome. very clear and crisp.
