Product Information

After Tommy (Chris Farley) barely graduates from college, he returns home to the Midwest where his father (Brian Dennehy), the owner of an auto parts factory, immediately employs his dumber-than-dumb son. While Tommy was away at school, his father had fallen in love with a beautiful woman (Bo Derek) and now desires to marry her. During the wedding ceremony, however, Tommy's dad tragically dies from a heart attack, which puts the company's--and its 300 employees'--future at stake. It is up to Tommy to use any available intelligence to keep his father's factory from going under. This road comedy uses the seriously comedic chemistry between the late Farley and his SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE buddy David Spade to brilliant effect.

Chris Farley....So Much Potential!
I really love this movie! I enjoy a movie you can just sit back and enjoy. 'Laughter is Good For The Soul' really fits this one! What a shame Chris Farley died. He was able to do so many things most heavy people have trouble with, such as dancing the way he did with his 'Father' on stage after the wedding. I found it touching that members of his own family were guests of the forementioned wedding; he really loved his family, just as he loved his new 'brother' Rob Lowe, be still my heart!) and 'Mother' (Bo Derek-am I the only one who feels she's had that hairdo way too long?). I love the way he and David Spade interact, and I must not not be the only one, as they did another movie together in the Pacific Northwest, where I live. A big part of the comedic plot had to do with the pristine shape of Spade's car, which is ripped to shreds before they're done with their road trip, and the way it was done, part by part, made me both flinch and laugh simultaneously. This is, plain and simple, a great movie for a great laugh. I am not a simple, nor ignorant person, as one review made people out to be if they found enjoyment in this movie. I have watched SNL from it's debut, and am amazed by the high amount of the different cast members who have moved on to both movie and television fame. One of the originals, Dan Akroyd, who's role turns into Tommy Boy's major competitor, and a villain, that Tommy pulls the rug out from under of. Turns out Tommy's not as ignorant as everyone thinks! I have no cons; I highly recommend it!

Start Of Things New
The start of a comedic partnership, this film offers many developments and character building through the adventure the main characters go through as a result of the trip they take together. Come for that. Stay for Rob Lowe, creating a new actor's acting troupe and reviving his career in the process.

Tommy Boy
I enjoyed the character who played "Tommy Boy" and the wild encounters he had in the big business world.I also loved Bo Derek's character. I disliked some of the inside office scenes and the short amount of times that Bo Derek appeared in the movie.I decided to buy this movie because of the low price,I like Bo Derek and I was interested in who Tommy Boy was.
