Pretty good for the price
First of all, the ocarina itself looks beautiful. The deep purplish-blue color is stunning, and while the triforce is printed on, it adds a nice touch. The stand that comes with it, however, is fairly cheap and doesn't hold the weight of the ocarina very well, so I don't recommend using it. The ocarina sounds pretty good for the price tag, though there are intonation issues in the higher register of the instrument. The highest note on the instrument, F5, sounds more like an E5 or Eb5, and I have to use a lot of air just to get it to that pitch. If you're looking for an ocarina to perform on, then you'll likely want to look elsewhere, but for someone who is looking for an inexpensive ocarina or is looking for a nice looking prop for their Zelda collection, this is a good option.First of all, the ocarina itself looks beautiful. Could be better
Pros: -The ocarina itself seems to be of nice quality and heavy. -Plays fine according to the music sheet, but I can't say if it's in tune or not(don't have a tuner, or musical talent whatsoever). Cons: -Doesn't stay on the stand even a little.(almost dropped and broke mine trying to set it up like the pictures CAREFUL!) -Doesn't have any of the zelda songs on the music sheet like you'd expect(if I wanted to play twinkle twinkle little star, I'd would have purchased a recorder)Pros: -The ocarina itself seems to be of nice quality and heavy. -Plays fine according to the music sheet, but I can't say if it's in tune or not(don't have a tuner, or musical talent whatsoever). Fun collectible and working ocarina
Ceramic ocarina for Zelda fans. Works well also but the "hand" holder is not something I would recommend using as it tips over VERY easy and is a bit awkward to use in any position.

8 year old was in cosplay heaven
I bought this for my daughters 8th birthday as she is a huge Legend of Zelda fan, Ocarina of time was the game that got me through the horrendous morning sickness I experienced while I was pregnant with her and so it has always held special interest for her. Last Halloween she announced that next year she would like to be Link from Ocarina of Time and so I thought this would be a fun gift and something to get her excited for her costume which I have fun making each year and going all out. I decided to get a small wood treasure chest from hobby lobby to put it in instead of wrapping it so it would be in keeping with the theme instead of boring wrapping paper. the foam wound up fitting perfectly in the chest by some bizarre miracle of the universe. She pretty much thought I was a magical ... I bought this for my daughters 8th birthday as she is a huge Legend of Zelda fan, Ocarina of time was the game that got me through the horrendous morning sickness I experienced while I was pregnant with her and so it has always held special interest for her. When she realized that it was not just a prop but a real playable instrument her mind was pretty much blown. she was able to start playing it pretty much right away and with a little fiddling around and shifting of hand positions was even able to figure out a scale. She has now decided she will learn all the songs from the game. I am a happy mom the sound of the ocarina is better than her recorder, and expands the excitement of the video game beyond the bounds of a screen and into the real world! and to top it all off I have one less prop to design and create by halloween!
