    EHX Silencer

    Good value. Does exactly what it is supposed to. I have 27 S. Duncan & EHX pedals in my chain & because of all the overdrive & distortion pedals I have a lot of hiss as u can imagine. The Silencer does quiet down my chain quite a bit. I'd say 75 % of the unwanted noise is gone COMPLETELY. I would of been happy with 50% to be honest. So if u just have 8 or 10 pedals in your mix ...u should be okay for the most part. I payed around 45.00 $ & it was worth every cent. The effects loop is perty sweet as well. I recommend this pedal. Make sure u read the manual & watch the video so u can see how all 3 knobs work in conjunction with one another.

    4.5 stars great value even as a effect loop.

    Disclaimer: I really don’t use it as a noise gate. But it should work just as well as a boss ns-2 for noise. If not slightly better. And I’m a huge Boss believer. I use it more as a simple gate. The only thing better I’ve tried is the Zvex loop gate but I’m not a huge fan of their layout. I like a gate where you can fine tune it to your pick attack. This gem delivers. I’ve tried MXR, DOD, Boss NF-1 and NS-2. For noise gates or straight up gate it’s a winner!

    Great noise gate. Small footprint

    Electro-Harmonix The Silencer is among the best noise gates in its price range. Its effects loop feature is really useful if you just want to gate noisy pedals. The treshold, reduction and release knobs allow to fine tune how it gates your rig. Works as intended. Props to Electro-Harmonix

    Works well, but has quirks and can be frustrating

    I cant twll if mine is defective or if its just flawed in its design. I have to basically recalibrate it anytime I use a different tone. Set it for distortion and it will kill your clean sound. Set it for a modulation or pitch effect or fuzz and it doesnt work on distortion. Also it wont work at all until you turn it off and back on again. Its confusing, tedious and frustrating. Its saving grace is that when it does work, it works very well. Its because of its checkered performance that I coyldnt in good conscience recommend it to anyone.

    Eletro harmonix silence

    A very versatile pedal, with quite interesting features, worked very well with other pedals of different brands, in addition to having a size suitable for pedalboard.
