    GREAT SHOW - Still Funny Today!

    While I once LOVED this classic show ( I was only 9 years old when it 1st came on in 1971) it STILL holds up today! Only now when I watch it, I realize it contains some mild Adult Jokes that I obviously didn't pick up on in 1971 (as a 9yr old)! The only problem I have with this DVD SET has to do with the "TECHNOCALITIES" sp? of how the DVD-makers made this TV Show DVD Set. On almost every other "Broadcast-TV" DVD SET I've ever purchased, you have the ability to put a particular disk in (e.g., Disk #1 of 3) and you can sit back and watch all 8-to-10 episodes in a row. Well, you CANNOT do that with this set (unless your DVD PLAYER has a "Repeat ALL" setting only 1 of my 5 DVD Players/Recorders have this unique "Repeat ALL" feature).     NEW GIRL IN TOWN~ Mary is the new "woman" hired~ GREAT~

    PLOT: NEWLY HIRED Mary is recovering from a broken engagment and moves to Minneapolis~ TED ad libs elections results~ and Murry writes a play~ DID YOU KNOW that the reason Mary was HAD A BROKEN ENGAGEMENT RATHER THAN be divorced WAS because they felt that viewers would think she divorced Rob Petrie~ LOADING the car AND HEADED NORTH~Mary is hired as the ONLY female at WJM~ some of the BEST are~ THE SNOW MUST GO ON~ snowbound at WJM Mary tries to Cheerup the staff~AND BEST IS WHERE Ted has to "AD Lib election results" ~ ANCHORMAN OVERBOARD~ Ted's confidence is shot after bombing at Phyllis's womens club~ PARTING IS SUCH SWEET SORROWS~ Hired for more money at a bigger station Mary's going away party~ has her reluctant to leave~ WE CLOSE IN MINNIAPOLIS~ at last Murry has a play will be ...

    excellent in every way

    incredible first season to a show clearly ahead of its time. the writing, acting, and production value are stellar! Mary, Rhoda, Phyllis, and the news team are obviously the most beloved characters in American tv... for good reason!

    Turn the world on with a smile...

    I received the product in a timely manner, in its "Used" condition, but no surface scratches on the DVD. For a few dollars, I could have cared less. I finished watching it last night, it was great to see MTM on tv again. She definitely turned everyone on with her smile!

    Great Show!!

    The Mary Tyler Moore Show is the best show ever!! It's hard to believe that it's 37 years since I first started watching it...I was just 12. It just takes me back with such great memories and I long for television to be like this again. Of course that won't happen, but by having Mary, Rhoda, Lou, Ted & Murray for short periods during an episode....well, it just gives me some nostalgic moments. I want to own the whole set at some point.
