Disappointing purchase.
As i recall, this hard cover book, Centennial, by James Michener was described as new. Perhaps it had never been read. The dust cover was a bit worn. But the pages in the book, though clean, were different lengths and widths. and the the edges were rough and a bit soiled. Perhaps the book was a discard due to the varied length and width of the pages. The top of the page edges were dyed green while the bottom edges were manila. I bought Centennial by James Michener to read and to stand with my other Michener hardback books. Cosmetically, it was a disappointing purchase. I paid a higher price for it because it was "new." Good story of the Colorado area of the US.
Very good multi-part TV series several years ago. Book purchased for in-depth study of Michener's story line and does not disappoint.

Centennial: The Pentultimate Western Miniseries
James Michener is a master storyteller, and if you've been lucky enough to see the 1978 miniseries, the characters leap from the pages into your mind. This helps to make the entire literary experience much more enjoyable and unforgettable.

Enlightening on many fronts.
Very good historical fiction. A real eye opener as to how the US grew as it expanded west. It also made me aware of how poorly the government treated the Native Americans.

easy reading, more details that the miniseries
I saw the miniseries on television and decided to read the book. This particular purchase was a great bargain and the book was easy reading, a moving, sweeping story. the book arrived in pristine condition and was even less expensive than most digital copies of books that are available.
