Codemasters returns to the back roads and two-tracks with this "2005" addition to its flagship rally racing series. In an RPM-influenced "Career Challenge" mode, this year's Colin McRae game has players working their way up the circuits from behind the wheels of classic two-wheel drive, super two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, and super-four-wheel drive class automobiles. The game features more than 30 different vehicles total, including models by Alfa Romeo, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Toyota, and Volkswagen. Races are set in nine international locations. Up to eight virtual rally racers can compete together through the Xbox Live service.

A truly excellent video game, from the experts at Codemasters.
At first glance Colin McRae Rally 2005 looks almost identical to Colin McRae Rally 04, namely because of the menus (which are almost identical). The game modes, car roster, and locations are all the same. After a while playing however it becomes clear that this game is really special. The graphics are the most noteworthy improvement. In fact this is the first rally game that I would consider truly beautiful to look at. By today's standards the resolution and frame rate may leave something to be desired, but the game runs on 360 in 720 and the color accuracy appears to have been designed by a real artist, as good as anything I've seen to this day. The sunlight, shadows , and road textures are all excellent. And the gameplay is just as compelling. After a few hours of practice the controls ... Its a fun, classic rally game that looks great, is very addictive, and even comes in a classy package. Look at that cover! I love Dirt 2 just as much as this game if not more so, but wow has the quality of the game covers gone down hill.

Disapointed...
This is a great game, very fun to play. But if you are looking for something closer to the real experience driving with cockpit view, you will be slightly disappointed just as I was. The physics of the game is not as real as I expected as I’ve seen games with more realistic movements before (not rally though). If you are not really a driving fan and/or rather drive with the camera following behind the car, you are very likely to enjoy this game. The replay is very exciting (probably the best part of the game) and the variety on cars and tracks are a plus. Despite the car movements as I mentioned, the game is very well designed and very fun to play.This is a great game, very fun to play. Again I'm sorry about this late rating. I thought I had already. 5 stars 100%. I highly recommend this place. In fact I'm getting ready to place a larger order. No worries with these guys.

Great game !
I always end up playing this game till 3am, so I can only play it on the weekends. Graphics still hold up fairly well, car control is really good, if you like rally games this is the one you want to buy !
