"lost Horizon" Found!
I saw this movie back in 1973. I bought the LP before I saw it. The movie was a turkey. It was so bad it was good and became one of my cinematic guilty pleasures. I sold the LP years ago. Recently, I was reminded of it and bought this CD. Great to hear it again. Actually, the songs aren't bad. Great Burt Bacharach music. Bad Hal David lyrics. It's a shame they couldn't have somehow replicated the LP cover design for the CD. It folded down from the top and revealed a large picture of Shangri-La.I saw this movie back in 1973. excellent recorded cd

Great music from a time lost, but not forgotten.
If you are a fan of soundtracks of musicals and a fan of Hal David & Burt Bacharach then you must have this in your collection. Wonderful music from a wonderful movie.

Lost Horizon Soundtrack
I had this as a vinyl and always felt the music is what made this movie. I enjoyed the movie but I know it was not a financial success. The sound of the cd is so much better than the vinyl and it's just enjoyable to listen to good "older" music. Bobby Van has a great voice and so does the person who signs "I come to you" Anything that Burt Bacharach produces it first class. This is no exception.

The music is still captivating. Lyrics are still great.
I saw the movie in its original release, before 3 scenes were cut. The songs and lyrics were captivating and the scenery was great. The movie bombed, but the story line is still relevant even today. I think a lot of the critics forgot that the main purpose of movies is to entertain and be fun to watch.
