Product Information

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 is designed for the professional photographer to be able to import, manage, edit, and organize multiple images, all at the same time in one piece of software. It is industry standard software, especially for RAW images. Lightroom isn’t as much a photo editor, as a photo manager (though there are some editing capabilities included), and it is designed to work seamlessly alongside Adobe Photoshop. Some of the improvements from Version 1 of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom include faster importing, improved noise reduction, better lens and perspective correction, and more useful watermarking of images en masse. You’ll also be able to instantly drag and drop your images to a website gallery without loading or freezing issues. You can also take those same images and upload them to Facebook, Flickr, or SmugMug from inside Lightroom. Slideshows with text and music can also be created without switching to another app. Though designed mostly for images, there are also improved video capabilities as well, including support for HD video. With the high-end video capability of so many DSLRs, you’ll be able to manage those files with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 just as easily as still photography. Out of the box, dual monitor use is also supported, so you can focus on one image or video, with the balance of your library just a mouse roll away. You can also improve a single image with the “Before and After” view, which keeps both your original version, as well as the one with your changes, on the screen right next to each other. The noise reduction on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 is outstanding, and is particularly helpful when taking high ISO shots without having the time for a tripod or flash. It filters all that background mess together flawlessly, and is one of the most beloved features by professional photographers. One key feature is the ability to sort imported images not just by date and time, but also by the type of camera used, as well as the attached lens. You’ll also be able to apply changes across a wide range of photos with just a few clicks. Don’t like how the sun hit a series of panoramic shots? Sort all taken at that time and place, and dial down the brightness for all images at once. For photographers who take multiple images of the same subject, Lightroom 3 can sort by the output and allow you to rate each image on a 0 to 5 star scale, while looking at all your shots. This way you’ll only begin work on the images you like the best and archive or trash the remainder. What makes Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 terrific is the simplicity and ease of use in such a powerful program. As with all Adobe products, there are plenty of forums and videos and FAQs available for getting the most out of the software, but the intuitive user interface makes photography management simple for both the experienced professional as well as the amateur who’s still exploring.

    Great Value for Software

    I've already been using this software and think that it's great, but not for a beginner without a lot of help from books or someone already familiar with the software. Company tech support is good and there's a huge community out there of Photoshoppers so there's usually someone around to ask questions of if the software help section doesn't answer your question.

    Lightroom 3 is less capable than NX Studio

    I bought Lightroom 3 because the Yosemite OS system on my Mac is considered old and and won't support a newer more advanced version of Lightroom. My old PC (system 8) however is compatible with Nikon NX Studio which is a free and a more capable program than Lightroom 3. So for simple editing I'll use Lightroom 3 on my Mac and for more involved editing I'll use Nikon NX Studio on my PC.

    Great software and a terrific price!

    Quick ship. Installed easily. Great deal. This is going to be a great way (I hope) to catalog, cull, and do quick bulk corrections. I'm learning it from instructions for a newer version ... some problems but they are mine :).

    Adobe Lightroom 3 works perfectly in Windows 10. Great buy!

    Works perfectly on Windows 10 (Fall Creators Update). I didn't want to pay the monthly Adobe subscription for the newest version, so I went with this one. Works great!
