À propos de ce produit

Product Information

When handsome young comic book creator Holden McNeil (Ben Affleck) meets cute young comic book creator Alyssa Jones (Joey Lauren Adams), romance seems preordained. But Holden is soon confronted with Alyssa's complex sexual history, as well as his friend and colleague Banky's (Jason Lee) conflicted and enraged response to the affair. Despite the seriousness of the issues, director Kevin Smith keeps the laughs coming, even as Holden goes through hell and grows up.

  • HERE LIES F,,,,,,,,,,,

Chasing Amy The Criterion Collection presents another classic dark comedy: Chasing Amy. If you’ve never seen this – do yourself a favor and pay tribute to the great Kevin Smith. Like all Kevin Smith movies – Chasing Amy combines unique production with witty and sarcastic humor and dialogue and a cast of not-quite-A-list-actors-who-get-the-job-done (does that make sense?!). In fact, the best compliment I can pay to Chasing Amy is this: Ben Affleck has a major role in the film… and I still like it!! I really despise Mr. Ben Affleck, but somehow he is rather good in this movie. From the DVD box: Chasing Amy is the third installment in the “New Jersey Trilogy” from Award-Winning writer/director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma). Cult comic-book artist Holden (Ben Affleck) falls in ...

  • Just hittin' home

I really thought it was a strong movie. I like finding stuff that flies under the radar, but is still a satisfying little gem. No real review stuff here, only because I've been in a similar situation (where the woman I was sleeping with and falling in love with had been f*** buddies with just too many other people) and I can relate to the confused atmosphere that these people find themselves in. I thought the scene at the club where Adams is singing (good song written by Adams by the way) and Afleck thinks it's for him, is the stongest comic moment. Very funny! I'll tell you one thing though - I fell half in love with Joey Lauren Adams. What a beautiful girl! Ben Affleck has made it but I don't know why she isn't a bigger star. I think this is easily the best ...

  • Worth Chasing Down

Writer/director Kevin Smith made a name for himself with the very funny juvenile indie antics of "Clerks," but with "Chasing Amy" he showed that he could do more than just write foul jokes, he could also incorporate maturity and heartfelt drama. The actors perform flawlessly, and "flawless" is something you don't usually expect to hear in reference to Ben Affleck's acting. Now, don't misunderstand, this is still the raunch-fest you expect from a Kevin Smith movie--the easily offended will want to avoid this like a nun avoiding a Mexican donkey show--but it has a surprisingly endearing quality and the relationships the plot explores ring true and lifelike while simultaneously veering off the rails into outrageous territory. Bottom line, this ...

  • I love Criterion films, but this isn't the greatest of them. Still worth picking up for the price though.

I have a small collection of Criterion DVD's and Blu Ray's, and I just picked this up for a few bucks which was well worth it. The movie isn't amazing in my opinion, but still worth a watch. I picked it up more or less because it was a Criterion release, and would not purchase a standard copy of the film.
