Product Information

On the back of a fire breathing-dragon is where Eragon stands against the invading army of Shade Durza. Alone or with a friend, players who take the role of Eragon step into a world of combos and magic-based combat including finishing moves, grapples, and counter attacks as they journey from the village of Carvahall to the home of Farthen Dûr in an adventure based on the 2006 film. Gamers begin as a semi-skilled hero who is upgraded as the story progresses. Players may execute attacks with arrows, swords, and magic. Using magic, Eragon can push or pull an enemy toward him or knock attackers off platforms. His magical capabilities allow him to manipulate his environment by creating pathways to previously unreachable areas. During the adventure, players may call for help from Saphira, Eragon's dragon, to complete airborne objectives and deliver attacks from the sky during melee combat on the ground. In flight, players direct the movement of the dragon, delivering tail swipes and fireballs to opponents as Saphira. The Xbox 360 version of Eragon features additional levels, including two taken directly from the book, a bonus enemy race called the Kull, and a number of hidden eggs located within the game.

    Not So Bad After All!

    Alot of the gaming web site gave this game horrible reviews. I on the other hand do not understand the harsh judgment. Eragon is not all that bad. Yes I does have glitches here and there and the camera is iffy in a few spots, but all in all it is a good hack and slash. I reminds me of the Lord of the Rings games. You travel along a set path and are involved in pre-determined events. The dragon flying scenes are also entertaining. All in all this is an entertaining game and stacks up well considering most movie titles are below sup-par.

    Poor!!!

    Eragon relies entirely on tedious, unenthusiastic gameplay that's way too shallow to sustain interest for more than a few minutes. The Good: Some of the magic attacks are fun to use at first. The Bad: Combat is extremely repetitive and tedious. Poor hit detection, buggy artificial intelligence, frustrating camera angles. The game is short and has very little replay value. Local multiplayer only, no online play. Ugly character models, jerky animations, and an all-around lackluster presentation. Overall: Poor Game... Portions of this review are by Gamespot.com

    Great game at a great price!

    My son loves this game. Swords, dragons, bows and arrows..just what boys like!

    Eragon for Xbox 360

    The gameplay is pretty good. It follows the movie more closely than the book. I think it would have been a little better if it had followed more of the book storyline making it longer and more challenging. I beat the game on normal within a week, so I am trying it over again on the difficult setting. I bought the game because both the movie and the book were really good.

    it's your average hack and slash

    price was great so i said let's give it a go. haven't played much of it yet, but it's ok. not great not horrible. i would recommend this for younger players as it isn't bloody and is easy to play. for us adults it doesn't really have the gameplay or graphics we like, and as expected the acting is pretty cheesy. if you can get it cheap go for it, otherwise i'd leave it alone. hope this helps you decide whether or not to purchase it
