A perfect blend of action and comedy!
This film is the first I'd seen in YEARS where I actually laughed often during the entire film! Steve Carell is a fitting Maxwell Smart, bringing the personality and humor the character requires. (I'd been a fan of the old tv series, watching re-runs on Nick at Nite.) He's really the only man for the job that I could even picture in the role. And Anne Hathaway steals the show as the beautiful Agent 99. Anne and Steve compliment each other in every scene with hilarious, witty dialogue and facial expressions that only they can do. The Rock was also awesome as Agent 23. And Alan Arkin is surprisingly side-splitting as the Chief! 86 and 99 are back
Whether you watched the show during its original run, caught it in reruns over the years like I did, or you are a very recent fan of the series like my 9 year old son who watches all the seasons and original movies repeatedly, you will laugh hysterically at this movie. Just about every agent and character from the original series is here, from Agent 13 who gets stuffed in the oddest places to Fang, Max's dog from season one. The dialog, the gags, and the characters are pure Get Smart. I do not believe anyone could have come into Don Adams shoe phone better than Steve Carell. He perfectly carries off the almost debonair, yet not as clever as he thinks he is Agent 86. Anne Hathaway (who looks breathtaking in black leather) was awesome as Agent 99, completely playing the seasoned agent to ... My family and I have been waiting over a year since the first trailer was shown for this movie and it was well worth the wait. We will be seeing it many times over.

Get Smart is a Great Movie on Blu-ray
I love this movie! What is great about the Blu-ray version are the extras. There is a setting you can enable where the disc will automatically insert all alternative scenes. Makes it so much more fun.

Get Smart
Much funnier than I had assumed it would be. This movie has Steve Carell, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Anne Hathaway (who I don't necessarily have an opinion about) and they work better together than I had thought they would. The movie has very funny parts that don't overwhelm you like you would think given Steve Carell is a little over-the-top sometimes. It does a great job of capturing the spirit of the TV show. Can't wait to get it so I can watch it again!Much funnier than I had assumed it would be.
