Love this series
I watched all of the original stargate series and was addicted since great story telling and good characters and interesting actors. Of course underlying held back love that is unrequited between main characters. I would watch this series after seeing the original stargate series. It takes watching a few episodes to get into the story lines and characters. Atlantis is a continuation with the main characters making appearances,especially Samantha Carter filling in as head of the base. I loved the overlap of characters. I did however prefer the bad guys in the original stargate better. Overall good continuation and Rodney (character) as the science guy was a smart, neurotic, romance inept character added brains to this space,fantasy, shootumup, adventure.I watched all of the original stargate series and was addicted since great story telling and good characters and interesting actors. Finally, no COMMERCIALS!!
A great find these days. Always loved the entire stargate franchise, Atlantis is one of my fav's! Brings back the good old days of changing out discs, dare I say knobs on your tv. Same same. I did this only to watch it at my leisure and without ads!!! Hulu has this streaming but I can't take the ads, my solution.....worth it!! Great series!!

Stargate Atlantis Blu Ray-Great!
This is a previous run by Sci Fi network (now SyFy I think) and the memories of when it came out really come through. The discs work and everything is in order. I couldn't be happier.

The BEST SciFi show ever produced for TV, with a big budget movie feel!
Stargate Atlantis was and may still be the best Scifi show developed for TV. The cast is amazing and the writing and special effects are on par with the very best high budget movie work and this is only a TV series. It was a very sad day for the SYFY community members when this was taken off the air for another similar show. Some real stupid TV executive had, with no knowledge of good TV or good Scifi, contributed to the cancellation of this show. The show had so many different story archs that it could have followed - that I remain mad at the cancellation even today. :) Now we have no good scifi on TV. If you have never seen the series, watch from the beginning and stay with it, as the humor and stories can be subtle and are often based on a shows history and character development. ... Stargate Atlantis was and may still be the best Scifi show developed for TV. The cast is amazing and the writing and special effects are on par with the very best high budget movie work and this is only a TV series. A fun SciFi show
I feel that Stargate Atlantis is the best of the Stargate television shows. The characters were interesting, and generally developed well over time. The storylines were really inventive, and the quality of the show continued to improve each season. Also, I'm a big fan of special effects, and this show looks amazing in Blu-ray.
