Product Information

Since first rolling onto PlayStations in 1999, the Tony Hawk skateboarding titles have lead the way for an entire subgenre of "extreme sports" video gaming. American Wasteland is designed to pull away from the pack, by offering a wide selection of customization choices and bringing its environments to life with new technology. American Wasteland's highest scoring trick is probably its sprawling, freely-roamed game world, which is the size of a virtual metropolis, and can be traversed and explored from one end to the other with no breaks or load times.<br><br>Set in the "birthplace of skate culture," Los Angeles, CA, American Wasteland features trick-heavy challenges in a Grand Theft Auto-styled urban playground, through which players can travel anywhere and choose from (or ignore!) numerous story- and side-missions they find along the way. For the first time in a Tony Hawk game, players can choose to ride BMX bikes throughout the entire adventure, but there are plenty of new tricks available for veteran boarders as well.

    Finally, a Tony Hawk game for the rest of us

    For those of you who have any interest in skateboarding but never had the time or interest to master a TH game, THAW is for you. It still has the same fun gameplay, but the missions are actually doable for those who don't have dozens of hours to spend mastering it. Gameplay: Same great, addicting Tony Hawk gameplay, but with easier levels. You also get to run around off your board and ride a bike. Story is ok. Graphics: Ho-hum. Nothing special, and significant clipping. Sound: Good, especially when you turn off the rap songs. You can also use custom soundtracks. Value: The addition of co-op classic levels is a plus to an already deep game. It is well worth the now-reduced price tag. Tilt: My son and I played this game together for about 4 hours straight at one point. That gets BIG ...

    Why i bought wasteland

    I bought this for my son for christmas and he loves it. He is going through the whole skater phrase that most boy are into. He has been wanting one of these games and I didn't want to pay the cost, then I found it on ebay for a great price. I had to buy it for him. He plays it with his brother and even got his dad to play it, it's been fun. I have no dislikes with it. if it makes the person you bought it for happy then how can you complain.

    Game doesn’t work..

    Xbox won’t read disc... granted the disc looks pretty good my Xbox won’t read.. Xbox is perfect and every other game of mine works fine. Was really looking forward to playing my child good game and enjoying this with my son.. Also this game isn’t backwards compatible the 360...

    Nostalgia at its finest!

    Everything was perfect! Works great and it’s fantastic to have a piece of my youth again! One of the best games I played, and excellent to play again.

    Tony Hawk's American Wasteland

    I love all the new tricks and abilities that you have now but the game is WAY TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO easy. If you are looking for a skateboarding game with great game play and longevity in game play I'd say go buy Tony Hawk 4. It isn't as flashy as the ones after it but it is much more of a challenge to beat.
