À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Red Faction: Guerrilla is a shooter that eschews its series predecessors' confined paths and first-person view in favor of a third-person perspective set in a vast open-world landscape. One thing the series hasn't changed, however, is its revolutionary tone. The original Red Faction found gamers rebelling against a corrupt Martian mining corporation, Red Faction II saw players back on Earth taking down a totalitarian regime, and Red Faction: Guerrilla finds gamers rising up against an Earth Defense Force (EDF) that has grown corrupt in its occupation of Mars.

Players assume the role of Alec Mason, a young man who, much like Red Faction's protagonist Parker, came to Mars to work as a miner, but soon found himself in the middle of a proletariat insurrection. As Mason, gamers can freely explore six zones of an expansive Martian landscape, ambushing EDF convoys, joining fellow revolutionaries, attacking military outposts, and exploring mines, industrial compounds, and thriving cities. Players can use an array of different weapons, from futuristic military fare like nano-rifles to improvised armaments like arc welders, and a variety of machines, such as armored personnel carriers, tanks, and mining excavators, can be hijacked and used against the enemy.

The "Geo-Mod 2.0" engine expands on the series' acclaimed emphasis on destructible environments, allowing gamers to systematically destroy any man-made object, from bridges, to huts, to towering skyscrapers. Red Faction: Guerrilla also puts its destructive engine on display in several different multiplayer game modes, including "M.A.Y.H.E.M.," "Fall Guy," and "Rampage."

Avis les plus pertinents

  • If you like blowing things up-it doesn't matter what- this game is for you.

Red Faction Guerrilla is a third-person shooter set on Mars. With the goal being to free Mars from the oppressive EDF, you would probably think this game is going to be pretty typical. and it is. With one exception, which is the very well done destruction engine. With buildings often as targets on the sandbox style map, you can literally pick up this game and start having fun. if you don't care about the story, it's fine, if you don't care about killing EDF, that's fine too because even the game's developers know that all you really wanna do is blow something up. You know what? Blowing something up is the whole focus, you find weaknesses, set charges, bash whatever you can with a sledge hammer, and there will be nothing but rubble and a glorious trail of destruction behind you. All while ...

  • Red Faction: Guerrilla

A few more months of polish and this would have been a must own title. The driving control feels a little cheap, the plot is nothing great, and the enemy AI has a few problems here and there. But... this game is a hell of a lot of fun to play purely for building destruction. The idea of fighting as a Guerrilla could have been a little deeper than raising a "Morale" bar for an area, but at the same time it's a blockbuster title that I'm sure they didn't desire to make very complicated. Missions are just diverse enough to not be repetitive. All and all a good arcady, building blowing up time. You owe it to yourself to at least rent it and witness the best building destruction I've seen in a 360 title. Oh, and multiplayer is fun for the "Seige" game mode, but the game really wasn't designed ...

  • Stop! Hammertime

GTA is what Red Faction: Guerrilla is as a game in a nutshell despite the obvious differences in setting and theme. What sets this game apart from GTA is that its main focus is on demolition and breaking things. The tutorial mission puts a sledgehammer in your hands and instructs you to beat the crap out of buildings with it. Almost every single piece of infrastructure in this game is destructable and the freedom allowed in destroying them is somehow way more fun than it ought to be. Its this reason alone that makes Red Faction such an enjoyable GTA clone. I reccomend Red Faction if you're into those free roaming sandbox games. Seeing as its a budget title now, you'll get your money's worth at @$20.

  • Great Game

Red Faction: Guerrilla was honestly a great game. It was a little hard getting involved in the story at first and a little repetitive with the missions to advance through the game. However, about half way through I started to enjoy much more than I had expected. The story developed very well and the fighting kept getting better and better. If you like playing a 3rd person shooter where you can destroy almost any building, upgrade weapons with resources, or destroy anything with a sledgehammer than this is the game for you.

  • Completely awesome game - Red Faction

I decided to buy this game based on a the free downloadable demo on Xbox live. The game totally lived up to its promise. It is open world, with tons of Martian landscape to walk, jump, fly, and drive over. The physics engine is great; you can demolish buildings by taking out key structural beams and stuff. The missions are challenging and varied, with things like rescuing the hostages, doing as much damage as you can, holding off increasing numbers of troops, etc. There are also independent challenges apart from the main missions, which are either demolitions challenges or driving challenges. These were all interesting and fun and help hone your skills for the actual gameplay, plus give you some extra currency to buy upgrades with. I have had an XBox 360 since 2006 and a regular ...
