Product Information

Twelve years after the original StarCraft "zerged" its way onto computers, Blizzard's sci-fi strategy game finally receives its sequel with Wings of Liberty. Once again the game features three rival factions: the gritty, gutty terrans; the slithering, swarming zerg; and the psionic, cybernetic protoss. The single-player campaign focuses on the scrappy terrans, led by Jim Raynor, in a narrative spanning 29 missions. To help those new to the StarCraft universe, a number of mini-games are included to introduce key tactics and strategies. While the presentation has changed, Wings of Liberty's mechanics are similar in design to the original StarCraft, relying on the traditional real-time strategy framework of resource gathering, structure building, and unit generation. New troops, ships, and technology are included for each faction, as are an assortment of tweaks and upgrades to familiar faces.<br><br>Online support for up to eight players is offered through Blizzard's Battle.net service, allowing gamers of all skill levels to be matched together for competition in leagues, tournaments, and ladder matches. Full stat-tracking is available, along with voice communication, Facebook integration, and cloud file storage. Also included in a built-in editor that lets players create custom maps with scripted events. Wings of Liberty is the first of three planned StarCraft games, each offering a single-player campaign focused on one of the three races (all races are available for offline skirmishes or online competition). Wings of Liberty is released in two packages: a game-only version and a collector's edition. The collector's edition features a 176-page book on the game's art, a making-of DVD, a soundtrack CD, a comic book, exclusive downloadable content for online play, a Terran "Thor" pet for World of WarCraft characters, and a USB flash drive containing the original StarCraft and its Brood War expansion.

    amazing, worthly, fun, super, extra, excellent

    How is the Collector's Edition? Amazing and worth the extra money. It includes an art book full of drawings and explanations from every game from the Warcraft series. The environment setting soundtrack is nice to listen to if you're just lying around in bed or any other place. Also included are 4 pictures that appear on the regular boxes. These look very nice and add to everything else. A DVD with all the Warcraft III cinematics is also included. As said before, the cinematics are gorgeous. Just be sure to play through the campaign or else you won't get the movies. A collector's edition manual, technology chart, and product guide are also included. Another thing that is nice is the box.     When you looking to buy Collectors Editions...

    If you gonna buy any collectors edition make sure its factory sealed. Otherwise yours wasting your money & time. thankfully this was factory sealed... now my SC2 franchise is complete.

    First Item ever bought on ebay, VERY satisfied with purchase :)

    Like buying anything online, you have to research whats real and what is fake. But I put my gut in this one and chose well! The Collector's Edition was still in its original plastic shrink wrap and not even a cardboard dent. Everything works perfect! Just attached to my Battle.net account and everything. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend to anyone. I unfortunately missed the Best Buy sale but this was definitely the next best thing! Thanks so much :)

    Great game, great story

    I have always liked the Starcraft franchise. It is no surprise that Blizzard did it again, raising the bar with Starcraft 2. For all RTS fans, this is a great game with a great story. Picks up from where Starcraft 1 left off. New units, new strategy, new story. Something you need to keep in mind when purchasing this item is that you are buying a license to play the game. You do not own the game. Blizzard can revoke your license without any refund to you at any time for any reason. Enjoy!
