Avis les plus pertinents

  • Great book, filled with useful information re cellaring of all vegetables.

Lots of useful and practical advice no matter how a person wants(or needs)to cellar/preserve vegetables. Includes very helpful sections on the different types and variations of vegetables, how well they could grow in a garden given differing conditions and how well each would "keep". Great advice on how to vent and insulate a cellaring space properly as well. Very easy to read and understand what the authors are trying to explain in most instances...even for a novice to the root cellaring world. It is a "keeper" for longer term reference purposes.

  • Well written for those raised in the city.

We purchased an old house with a root cellar and was clueless as to what to do with it. The book was interesting and easy to understand. It explained exactly which food items could be stored in a root cellar and how to do it. My only problem is that I had never heard of half of the items they recommended storing. The book does have recipes at the back to show you how to use the food. I have started buying one new item every week and trying it to see what I really liked and want to grow and store next year. It's a fun and healthy experiment.

  • Root Cellaring by Mike & Nancy Bubel

this book is very informative on root cellaring, has alot of helpful ideas on how to store for every budget. Very well done, best one I have read so far. Actually had imput on how to go about storing vegetables and different ways to accomplish your goals of long term storage for a vast array of ideas and problem solving for alot of different crops, one I plan to keep as a reference. Would recommend this book to anyone who needs a little creative help to store the bounty of their garden.

  • Excellent book on this topic!
