Ultimate Tesla Coil Design
If you want to understand Tesla coil properties and design criteria instead of just using someone's construction plans to build coils, then this book is a must read. Mitch Tilbury has compiled the most extensive information I've seen to date on the electro-physics and engineering of Tesla coils. All of the data you need to build , tune and tweek your coil design is in this book, both theoretical and practical. There is a large collection of electrical engineering information in this book that could be used beyond just building Tesla Coils. The book is well written as a reference volume with a well organized encyclopedic structure. Tilbury gives the reader a great deal of foundational reference, but the book would likely appeal to persons who already have some experience in electrical ... If you want to understand Tesla coil properties and design criteria instead of just using someone's construction plans to build coils, then this book is a must read. Mitch Tilbury has compiled the most extensive information I've seen to date on the electro-physics and engineering of Tesla coils. Most books with this level of excellence cost many times more than the stated list price on the back cover. As far as I'm concerned, this is wonderful investment either as a personal item or as a gift to an enthusiastic engineering student. Well done.

Tesla coil design
I bought this book before while in NY and loved it then, but somehow, it mysteriously vanished at home lol. Thus begins the case of the sticky fingers;) So I loved it so much the first time I had to have it again. Now its under lock and key lol. No but its watched closely to say the least. The book is a great tool for a coil builder, with formula, tips, and a library of information for all stages of coilers. Would recommend it highly. I have most tesla books and this is the best in terms of actually building and servicing your coil, ect. They have packaged the spice program, an integrated circuit program that is awesome, I would give this book a 10 of 10 for a coil builders reference. A Big Thumbs Up !
I Have read the entire book but, I have not tried all the designs. The advise is clear and the author is " Safety Conscious ". I enjoy the enthusiasm about the coils as much as Tesla and his creative thinking. Good Job !

This is a helpful book, but it does not live up to its title.
Although this book is full of formulas and concepts, it lacks some of the basic practicle information, like what happens to a neon type transformer when you place a large capacitor (like a 0.01 uF) across its output winding? Hint: It forms a resonant tank circuit, so the output voltage goes way up without something like a protection spark gap, to keep everything from self distructing. Richard
