  • The Grooviest Dynamic Supercardioid Vocal Microphone Ever Made At Any Price Point.

The Grooviest Dynamic Supercardioid Vocal Microphone Ever Made At Any Price Point. When Electro-Voice discontinued this whole series, they shot themselves in the foot. All of the new "Replacements" really belong in Wal-Mart. If you don't know jack squat about mics and how to use them, then listen up. Every TYPE of mic has a specific way it NEEDS to be used or it will seem to suck when it's really just you using it wrong. These (and the nasty Shure SM series) etc. are meant to be used with your mouth a 1/2" OR LESS away from the mic. A lip or 2 on the screen, even better. No standing back from them for ANY REASON. Pulling the mic away from you because you are going in for the BIG NOTES........not on your life. That is goofy junk that chicks on TV try to get away with.....but LIVE, ...

  • Lives up to it's reputation

About a year ago I got turned on to live performance condenser mikes and purchased the audio technica at2010 and later upgraded to the at3300 and never looked back. The subtlety, clarity and sensitivity took a little getting used to but it was well worth the effort. They do take more control and I have become a better vocalist using these mics. The nuance and vocal detail are unsurpassed. I don't always have access to phantom power so the prospect of having a dynamic mic with the same characteristics was very appealing. I saw an add for the N/D767a, read the reviews and at a street price of $79.00 I couldn't resist giving it a try. I was not disappointed! Like the audio technicas it takes some getting used to. The pronounced proximity effect and extremely narrow pick up pattern take some ...

  • Best microphone coming from someone with 20+ years performing in Rock Bands

Awesome Microphone!!! Really cuts through the mix. I play in a rock band where we all one various brands and types of microphones and the ND767A tops them all...Blows away the Shure 58, the AKG's, seinheizers, etc...This microphone perfroms much like a condensor mic for you can back away from it and it is still above the mix, alsop allowing you to have great control of the dynamics of your singing...also has the great clarity. It also can crank much louderthan other mics (I have tried them all) without the feedback or distorting. Also works great in smaller rooms. Best dynamic mic I have ever used by far!!!

  • Absolute best, most responsive, vocal microphone EVER.

I have tried every good vocal microphone out there, including the expensive Neumanns, Telefunkens, newer Electrovoice mics, and more. Even though this is a "cheap" microphone, it sounds the best every time, even over the high end stuff. The few other vocalists that I have run into that use this mic agree with me - once you've used this one, all other vocal mics (Shure SM58, etc...) sound like garbage compared to the N/D767. Unfortunately, the new model, the ND76 doesn't sound quite as good as the older model. It comes close, but the supercardioid pattern of the N/D767 allows for much greater power and responsiveness on stage than the regular cardioid pattern on the ND76. If you are looking for the best live vocal microphone, you don't need to spend $500 on a neumann, but you will need ...

  • Electro-Voice N/D 767a Dynamic Vocal Microphone

I need to mention the first time you try one of the N/D series of mics from E/V you will be a convert. Immediately, you note the rubberized coating on the body. This lack of a metal feel is unique and allows for a non-slip, comforting feel. The second thing to note is the hotter output of the mic due to the Neodimium (N/D) magnet used. Neodymium is characterized as a "rare earth" material with very strong magnetic field generation/retention capabilities. This has two advantages, reduced weight and smaller dimentional requirements to the transducer. Just open the screen and see for yourself the reduced size of the "pickup" area for the transducer. This in turn leads to the best quality of the N/D mic, feedback rejection the likes that an SM58 or similarly constructed mic simply is ...
