    Ken burns at his finest!!

    This is one movie that will keep you glued to your screen. It's so many ups and downs for the singers and musicians that paved the way for a many singers, today. Go on eBay and buy it.

    Wonderful documentary of the history of Jazz. We have watched is several times as my uncle was a sax man and played for many years.

    Comprehensive and entertaining!

    So far I have only watched the first tape out of the 10 so I must assume the other 9 will be of equally high quality. I thought I already knew a lot about jazz but this first tape was an eye-opener. Now I see I didn't know all that much. I had been afraid this Jazz documentary would be a rehash of things I already knew. Not at all! This series is great! I can't imagine any jazz fan not enjoying it. It's got the magic mix of entertaining and informing just right, I think.

    the best documentarist on the planet today, and I watch everything he has created constantly. exptremely well thought out, and riveting content make this a fantastic gift, or self indulgence...
