Battlestar Galactica - THE PLAN
Ok guys, if you're a BG fan, this is a complete ripoff. Essentially if you've already got season 1 thru 4.5, it's more a collection of cutscenes rather than new material. It actually has very little NEW footage in it. Very boring, no plot, and it honestly doesn't EVEN come close to explaining their PLAN at all. Ok, total destruction of the human race is a given. We all know that's what most of the Cylons want. However, they don't go into WHAT was compromised by Boltar and the blonde Cylon (who btw has a body to DIE for) There is absolutely NO real insight into the plan, nor WHY the Cylons WANT to eliminate the human race. You'd think their driving goal would be to BECOME human. NOTHING is mentioned about the integration of the two species (Meaning human/cylon chidren), where that ... Nothing said about when they find earth, what their plan for EARTH itself is, nor anything about how they planned to eradicate ALL the humans Paying ANY money for this movie is a ripoff. There's maybe 15 minutes of original footage, mostly with the 4 "hidden" Cylons that are in the fleet sitting in the rebirthing tanks waiting to download. This could have been a GREAT movie IF they'd gone from the FIRST Cylons and how humans treated them, to the original CAUSE of the rebellion, the battle when the Cylons rose up against their masters, and the animosity the original Cylons had against humans for being enslaved..and the human responsibility for leaving that door open by allowing them TO THINK objectively about how they were being treated. How they evolved from the first centurions into what they are today, and why would have been a good start. However, all we know is that humans invented Cylons, they rebelled (still don't know why in any clarity) and did their evolutionary path happen as a RESULT of being enslaved, or because of their becoming self aware? WHEN did this happen? WHY? None of these questions are answered. WHY are their only 13 models? Because there were thirteen tribes? So everyone go beat on the producer's email box so they'll release something that DOES tell what happened, instead of making us pay 30 bucks for a blu ray filled with cutscenes? This movie could have been SO MUCH BETTER if they'd taken the time to explain all these things.

Worth a look
Just got done watching The Plan. I read prior reviews, and I do agree that this movie is really for the die hard BSG fan. Would I have liked to have seen more destruction scenes? Yes I would have, but I also understand that these people had a small budget compared to an actual Hollywood movie. Still though the Cylon attack was pretty awsome. The character inter-actions with exsisting BSG film was well played. I could go into this more, but I would give away spoilers even though most people purchasing this dvd already know what happens in the movie. I got "The Plan" without knowing much about what the film would address, but I'm very glad I got it. We see much more of Bro. Cavil, and his cynical, yet world-weary attitude as he plots and directs his people to fight against the humans. We see a new six, a 'sexy-six,' and we understand more about what Anders and his pyramid team went through after the attack. Some have said that this film is only showing spliced together cuts of the original series, but I disagree---to my eyes it's the opposite: there is plenty of new material, intercut with the series to establish the timeline of what happened. If a person watched the mini-series, followed by 'The Plan,' he/she would get an incredible perspective on the series, and then, if he/she watched the ... My favorite quote so far is when Cavil hands Doral a suicide vest, Cavil says 'I think suicide vest undersells all the homicide that goes with it, don't you think?' We see Cavil's deep cynicism, but really, considering the Cylons and what they are up to, isn't there great cynicism behind their thinking and actions? Get this DVD.

Battlestar Galactica The Plan Review
The movie was excellent. The story, acting and production is up the standards of the series. It is the finishing tough for any Galactica fan. Edward. Olmos did an outstanding job directing and the casts" performance brought a sense of realism to the movie

Basically a review of the series
This story is directed by Edward James Olmos and brings back the cast of the hit series. The story centers around the Cylons 'Plan' to rid the universe of Humans. The movie brings in many new scenes of the original cast and enlightens viewers on some of the unanswered questions they may have had at the end of the series. It also uses many flash-backs of scenes directly from the original series yet this is done well and it is difficult to tell which is which. The only draw back is there are still a lot of unanswered questions, foremost is what or who is Kara Thrace (Starbuck), this was left open when she disappeared in the final show and it is not even addressed in this feature. There are other unanswered questions but I will leave that for you to discover. This is an excellent addition ...
