Twenty years after Alien Syndrome first slithered into arcades, Sega's coin-op classic gets a modern-day makeover with Alien Syndrome on Wii. The Wii version is played from an overhead perspective like the original, but this time in full 3D with 15 levels of laser-blasting, grenade-launching action. In a storyline inspired by the Alien film series, Alien Syndrome has players guiding a gun-toting female officer named Aileen Harding as she investigates a derelict space station overrun by foul creatures. Players will control Aileen with the analog stick and aim by pointing the Wii Remote at the screen, manipulating a targeting cursor independently of Aileen's movements.<br><br>While the original title was strictly a run-and-gun affair, Alien Syndrome on Wii features several role-playing elements to add some depth to the action. Aileen can specialize in one of five skills or classes, for example, ranging from a demolitions expert to a sharpshooter, each influencing her base stats and available talents. Defeated aliens will earn players experience points as well as random weapons, armor pieces, and other items that can be equipped or sold. Up to four players can band together for cooperative action against the alien armada, and the game's four difficulty settings allow existing characters to continue progressing for a chance at more powerful rewards.

Alien Syndrome...Baldur's Gate?
I recently bought this game, mostly from curiousty. I owned for a couple months and finally put it into my Wii System. Much to my surprise this game has definitly been a pleasant surprise. It has the Gameplay of Baldurs Gate, Diablo, etc. you go up levels, you add points to your Strength, Dexterity,Accuracy, Endurance, and numerous Skill Sets, such as Melee Aptitude, Armor Aptitude, Swiftness, etc. You find new weapons and armor as the game goes on from enemies, chests, or destroyable objects. You can also craft your own items from your "Helper" robot that follows you the whole game. The amount of items your carrying is also similar to Baldur's Gate where you can only carry so much weight, but that number goes up as your strength stat increases or if you raise your "Pack Rat" ... The games graphics are nothing spectacular, but the gameplay makes up for it, especially if you play with up to 4 people. What could have made this game better is if they would have included an Online Mode or something of the like. I've been playing a lot of this game solo, and it's still a good time. You can import your character to play with a friend on their saved game. The game also has two minigames, one to boost your stats and another to open "locked" chests. The controls work fine, sometimes you'll find yourself rotating the screen accidentally, and some of the other moves like slashing, and the pierce move, which are used by making a stabbing motion or by swinging the Wii Remote, are unneccesary. There are numerous classes to start as, each with their own pros and cons. Mostly stat related. The game is challenging and fun. If your a fan of the Baldur's Gate type game pick this one up! (Used though, $50 is to much to pay for this.)

title & picture are good it is a monster fighting game
It is a good fast and slow action shooting game. Great for beginners and fun for more seasoned players. You get to kill alens monsters without the blood and gore that pre-teens don't need. collect object and store them like in primeval, run mazes and hide around objects. It has a map on the screen you are playing so you know which way to go. Check points to restart from so when you die you don't have to start at the beginning everytime. I bought it as a substitute to primeval for my grandson.It is a good fast and slow action shooting game. Great for beginners and fun for more seasoned players. Great Game!
Is it a revolutionary game? No. It plays kind've like X-men legends. It is, however, hours of non-stop hack and slash fun. Your view is from the air looking down on the action. You have access to dozens of weapons and armor items with practically infinite variations among them. Your character levels up and you can choose which skills to level up. The controls are inuitively good, with the single exception that you rotate your view by turning the nunchuck on it's side, so at times it's pretty easy to spin the map on accident. You can bring in a second, third, or fourth player at any time. There are tons of crappy Wii games out there; this one is solid, and for less than 20 bucks, it's a steal. Great multiplayer
Sometimes it is hard to find good multiplayer games that appeal to both men and women, but this one does the trick. Fast paced without being overwhelming and challenging enough for the best of gamers. Getting to save points doesn't take forever and save is fast, which are both assets. Variety of weapons, armor, and other options helps make the game more interesting. If you enjoy shooter games that are rpg like, this is the game for you.Sometimes it is hard to find good multiplayer games that appeal to both men and women, but this one does the trick. Fun action packed kill some aliens game!! GV
IF you want a fun game a a good price here it is. Darknes makes game alittle hard to see, however game play and weapons are pretty cool. Seems to have a story line and is one of those games that is hard to put down beacuse you want to see where you go next. THinks of it as a Doom type game with and arial view instead of 1st person. Graphics arent the best but I'd buy it....oh I did.
