Product Information

Rev your engines into full gear with "Cars" for the Xbox 360 platform. Developed by Rainbow Studios, "Cars" is an exciting addition to the Xbox 360 lineup. This title is based on the hit Disney and Pixar movie, featuring several characters from the film such as Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sally Carrera, and The King. Each of these characters is playable. Actors from the franchise, including Larry the Cable Guy and Owen Wilson, lend voice work to the game to re-create the magic of the film as closely as possible. Besides the Xbox 360, the game was also released for the Xbox, PS2, and the Nintendo 3Ds among few. The gameplay focuses on racing and re-creating moments from the actual film. Story Mode retains the bulk of the play with an interactive virtual town of Radiator Springs, as seen in the movie, serving as the free-roaming hub of activity. From this main hub, you can interact with many of the beloved characters, accept races or challenges to progress the story, or just roam freely. The ultimate goal of this area is competing in numerous Piston Cup races. As the main story advances, players may unlock special boost abilities, discover access to new racetrack environments, and test their skills in a series of mini-games. Every course that is concluded in the main story will also become available as either a mini-game or arcade race, which can be replayed at any time with any of the game's unlockable racers. Every story mode event rewards the player with bonus points, which can be used to unlock racers in the game and customize them with numerous epic paint jobs at Ramon's shop. With over 200 specific trophies to acquire as well as stunning concept art and clips from the movie, gamers will be sure to experience hours of exciting fun. One exceptionally ingenious thing that "Cars" does is divide itself into two levels of games. One is constructed for players of all ages, and the second is a reduced, less challenging version for younger children. This makes it a game that is able to grow with your child in complexity. Whatever your tastes, the attractive component of this Xbox 360 title is that the game can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels. The adventures of "Cars" can be a challenge for the entire family no matter what level of games they enjoy. Visually, "Cars" is an exceptional game. The character models are great interpretations of their Hollywood counterparts, and the quality of the animation, particularly in cut scenes, is superb. The cars are expressive with their unique facial animations, and the lip-synching is spot-on. Radiator Springs itself is also pleasing to look at.     Xbox 360 Cars Okay but kids get bored with it.

    While 2 sons, ages 5 & 6, love Cars, they grew bored with this game after a few weeks. It was easy for them to figure out on their own. However, some games can only be played by one player, so they fought over whose turn it was. The car races were fun the first few times, but it took so long to complete a race. That's why I think it's boring. I'm a little disappointed, but I got it at a great price, so I'm not complaining. The cars say funny things which was entertaining the first 50 times. Now my kids play Lego Batman all the time.

    Great for the kids!!

    I was actually a bit impressed by how well this game was done for the Xbox 360. A bit slow at first, the game starts to take off as you unlock different events. There is a good mix of mini-games and other fun stuff as well. Although there a few glitches when trying to reach hidden and bonus spots on the map, the gameplay is great overall with a lot of attention payed to detail. It's not just a game for boys either. My three girls love it! Fun for all ages, but younger ages will get the most out of it.

    Fun for the whole family

    This is a fun game for the whole family. There is free roaming of the town of Radiator Springs that kids can play and not have to worry about time constraints or crashing and having to start over. It is also a little challenging for the older crowd as well, not only with the racing, but also in the little "tasks" that you are sent to do. All in all a fun little game that I'm sure will be played for a while.

    Not Just A Kid Game

    I purchased Cars, thinking i would just play it to get my gamerscore up, because i was less than 1000 gamerscore points...so when u enter the game u have 2 options..economy size cars or compact size..compact is the kid side of the game and there are no gamerscore points available, but the economy size is for the adults and thats where the adventure begins...this game has tractor tipping which is awesome to stay away from the night guard "frank", then there is hot pursuit and chase action games, then once u earn enough trophies for each race..u race in a nascar like setting, its awesome definitely pick up this game, its alot more to it than u think.

    Enjoyable Game for the Family

    I bought this game because every time we go to a restaurant, my 4-year-old little boy would always ask to pretend to drive those race car games. I'm really glad I bought this game because he is able to play it. He can either drive without being in a race or he can be in a race for the Piston Cup. Another great added feature is he can choose to be different characters from the movie. If he could have his way, he would play it every day. :)
