DRACULA - Jack Palance - Dan Curtis Production 1973
I saw this on television as a kid when it first came out in 1973 -- Jack Palance portrayed the character the way he realistically would've been and it scared me to death; had to sleep with the lights on for a week and it would've been longer if my mother hadn't complained about the light bill! Impressively, the film stays 99% true to Bram Stoker's original story, unlike most other Dracula movies I've seen over the years that stagger aimlessly off in a completely different direction... which doesn't necessarily make them bad. Additionally, I knew of Producer Dan Curtis' work on the DARK SHADOWS series and how could you not like that? His other works, NIGHT STALKER and TRILOGY OF TERROR put the "nail in the coffin" for me and I started looking ... Realistic, and brilliant performance by Jack Palance.
What you have here is, in short, a fantastic horror film. While I am not particularly interested in vampire films, I have seen most the pre 90's movies on the subject, and somehow this 1973 movie still pulls some emotion from me. Directed by Dan Curtis (the genius behind the "Dark Shadows" British TV series), and portrayed by Jack Palance, the movie deals with the most intense --and accurate- story of the evil vampire that Bram Stoker wrote about (and best of all, the film doesn't go that far from Stoker's book from 1897). Basically, this is a British film, with the classic feeling of the horror movies from that cultural background, with a witty script (be prepared to be surprised with some of the dialogues in certain scenes), and excellent photography and incidental music. If you watch ... What you have here is, in short, a fantastic horror film. This is not your typical ridiculous horror movie for a Friday night, but actually a pretty serious film, which is not at all like the overproduced Coppola film from 1992. And if there was ever a Dracula in real life, you'll end up thinking he would have been a lot --if not very much- like the character that Mr. Palance brilliantly performs on this one. Watch it. You won't regret it.

Dracula
Not being a big fan of vampire movies, this film impressed me as a kid and still does. The late Jack Palance gives an outstanding performance as the "evil" Count Dracula. This version of Bram Stokers novel gives Dracula a more "human" side in the fact that he is trying to reclaim a lost love and she is the reason for his journey to England. This is a point that is either vague or lost in other versions. His lost love happens to be Lucy, who is a mirror image of his former love. You almost have to feel sorry for Dracula because even though he is a vampire and considered evil, his and Lucy's union is not meant to be. Of coures, the ending is the same as always. Jack Palance portrayed Dracula not in a gentlemanly fashion, as did Christopher Lee or Bela Lugosi. This ... Not being a big fan of vampire movies, this film impressed me as a kid and still does. An excellent performance by all the cast and the fact that it was filmed on location with minimal special effects makes this Dracula movie worth seeing. I give this movie five stars!

No I just said I like Christmas believes Dracula but Jack palance was one I started getting into and I like him too I watch this movie when I was young and ever since then I will always wanted to get it now I got it thanks to you eBay I appreciate your business I recommend anybody to eBay

Like most dracula movies.. 1. the charecters names are changed and situations re-arranged to make sure the movie isnt that long in minutes. Should a movie be made of bram stokers dracula, the movie would take 1-week to watch from beginning to end. Actor jack palance plays a dracula that is bleeding of heart yet angry and vengefull. Dan curtis wants the audience to have sympathy for this type of dracula because his heart is broken. I enjoyed this movie however i somtimes feel uneasy of jack palance's close-ups of fangs flashing and eyes-squinting.. it looked like his head was under great preasure and ready to explode!
