    Great Resource

    Are you looking for a great resource about medieval clothing? If so, this is the book for you. The content is conveniently arranged by social standing, royalty, warrior, artisan etc. The author has included informative written content, photographs of models in costume, and costume pattern drawings. There's enough here to satisfy your curiosity as well as wet your appetite for further research into this interesting topic.

    Great book quick shipping, thank you.

    One of the great things about this is that the author has done her research, and tends to construct the clothing from simple shapes -- namely if you can sew a straight line, or hem, you can make these costumes. The bad part is that there are some very odd items in here -- one tunic has a flap that ties in place, and the woman's gown is constructed in a very odd way -- you 'can' do it, but the seams look very out of place. Still, the price is good for a begining reinactor, and will instill confidence to go on and make more complicated items.

    A Really Useful Book

    Very good for the serious costumers, and those who need to recreate persons from the medieval period for any reason. Easy to follow diagrams of many types of person from the field worker to the king, also clerics, scholars, artisans and a few other hard to find professions. Good for creating faire or SCA personas, or theatre costumes, or school projects. Good line drawings of what it should look like as garments, with explanations of why the garment might be worn, and by who. I'll be using this book alot, and plan on getting a copy for a young costuming friend. As a comparison to other books of this type it's best feature is the range of professions and classes of people portrayed.
