Underrated flagship phone
LG made great phones. The G7, G8, and V50 were very competitive against other flagship phones. This phone (V50 Thinq) has features and tech that goes toe to toe with iPhones 10, 11, as well as Galaxy S10 and S20. It's just their marketing was not very aggressive. They were muscled out of the cut-throat smart phone business by Samsung, Apple, and the Chinese. You can now find these phones (even brand new) at prices MUCH less than Apple and Samsung comparable models. They're not good value. They are GREAT VALUE!! The G7 and G8 were 6.1 in. screens, while the V50 is 6.4 in. P-OLED. LG made great phones. The G7, G8, and V50 were very competitive against other flagship phones. Brilliant phone with some ergonomy quirks
Very nice screen, very sharp and with good colours. Excellent audio from the 3.5mm audio jack. Good photos, love the combination of three lenses with different focal lenghts. Good photo app with plenty of options. Good LTE speed and future-ready 5G ability. This phone is quite complete, really, for me it's perfect. I have just one thing to note, which is the ergonomic disaster that was placing buttons on the left side. When you press the right power button to turn on the screen, you are transmitting force to the phone, and since the phone is not very heavy and pressing those small keys requires a little more force than ideal, you need to counter that force on the left side of the phone, usually with the base of the left thumb. But if you have a button on the left side, in this case a "Google button", where the base of the left thumb is, pressing the right side button will also activate the left button. For this reason I had to deactivate it, otherwise I would only be able to press the right power button without unintentionally pressing the left one by using both hands. And above that are still two volume buttons, but I have gotten used to place my thumb above them, for the support that is really necessary against the force from the right when pushing a button. So it's possible to live with this phone and you can get used to it, but that small right button is still not the easiest to find and press. If you intend on using the fingerprint reader on the rear though, you won't have any of the problems I mention. I don't use it because I want to activate the screen as quickly as possible and to use the fingerprint reader you need to go through an additonal step after that to unblock the phone. The LG G6 had an advantage in this respect, as it allowed the use of the fingerprint reader on the back as a quick screen activating button. That feature would have been very helpful for me with this phone, given the button constraints I mentioned.

Android Sweet Spot
This is really a great phone that was too good for its time. The size is right. It actually fits in the wireless charger for my car unlike many other JUMBO phones. I like that. Headphone jack is bonus but I exclusively use Bluetooth these days. Fingerprint sensor works great. Good screen resolution...I have no idea the details but it is quite good. 👍 I also have the V60 with the dual screen. Its great, but way to MASSIVE in my opinion...forget about wireless charging that monstrosity in the wireless charging tray. I bought the V50 after buying the V50 and like the V50 better for all the reasons above except for one somewhat important item. V50 on Verizon is still on Android 10 while V60 has Android 11. Deal breaker? Not for me, plus I am hoping LG pulls through as promissed to provide ... This is really a great phone that was too good for its time. The size is right. This phone is really nice...nice size, beautiful screen, long battery life and a pleasure to use. Don't have 5G in my area yet, but when it gets here, I'll be ready!
