Beats by Dre studio noise cancelling headphones
With the experiences I have had with this particular type of headphone, I've had a great time with them. The sound quality is amazing and the clarity is perfect. Nothing can beat these beats. I would choose black just because they don't show as much dirt as white ones do. The shipping was a little slow but hopefully I will receive the product soon. Other than that, a great product. Great Base! These get the job done at all volume levels.
Let me start by saying that these are an "OPEN EAR" headphone and if your not sure what that means you should go do your homework. People around you will hear your music and they should as again these are an open ear headphone. I am a headphone fanatic, owning everything from Bose QC's to Sennheiser HD's and many others in between, and there's a style of music or sound that is best for each of them. These Dr. Dre studio's are the cats meow when it comes to heavy base type music, like rap, techno, dance, ect.. you get my point. Yes they require 2 AAA batteries to function and that could cause a problem for some if the batteries go dead say on a long plane flight, as were most of the others don't require batteries. But the batteries serve a purpose and with out them they could not deliver ... The built in mic on the jack cord is great for them interrupting phone calls and the right ear has a built in mute button for them times you want to hear someone or thing with out taking them off or turning down the volume. The construction of them is of good quality for a folding type of headphone. Like anything it's as good as you care for it. The only real issue I have is I would like to see a little bigger cup on them as after a few hours of use they start to hurt my ears a little and I would say I have average size ears so if you have some big Dumbo ears or wear large ear rings you might want to try a set on first. (I'm only saying) All in all these a great par of headphones if used with the right types of music. Yes there are better ones out there for the everyday listen to all types of music people. But if your looking for pure sounding base at all levels of volume then look no further then the Studio's by Dr. Dre P.S. nothing is ever 5 stars but these are close.

Beats Studios are comparable to Bose, but feel somewhat cheap and fragile
The Beats by Dre Studios are priced right between the Solos and the Pros. While all three do a good job at blocking out ambient noise, the Studios are the only one that employs active noise-cancelling technology (2 AA batteries required). You don’t have to be too concerned about battery life as the Studios will run for a long time without replacement. Both the Studios and Pros are over-the-ear headphones and tend to be more comfortable than the Solos, which are smaller and on-the-ear cans. When choosing between the Solos, Studios, and Pros, the main factor should be price, style, and comfort as the sound quality of Beats in general is not quite on par with similarly price audiophile-grade or music-production headphones (e.g. Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, AKG). The Studios and Pros have a ... The Beats by Dre Studios are priced right between the Solos and the Pros. Predictably, the Studios sound best when listening to hip hop or other bass-heavy music – if you listen to a lot of electronic music and are only looking for noise-cancelling headphones, than I would opt for the Bose. One of the main drawbacks to the Studios (and Solos) is the overall build-quality of the headphones as the main material is plastic and it is very easy to snap the headband. The locking mechanism that is used to fold them for storage is rather poorly designed and there is a chance that this can wear down over time. The risk of both of these issues is considerably increased if they are counterfeit or grey market so be extra careful who you buy them from and try to get a receipt or documentation if possible. In conclusion, if you have your heart set on Beats then the Studios are a pretty good choice since they come in a variety of colors and offer noise-cancelling technology, which makes them ideal for travel and portable use. If you are pretty rough on your headphones and can afford to buy Pros, I would highly recommend doing so as they’re more rugged and durable. If by any means you are open to manufacturers other than Beats, I would suggest checking out some other brands, such as Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, AKG, Denon, and Audio-Technica, which all offer a number of different choices depending on the overall sound that you prefer.

Battery life isn't as advertised by the manufacturer.
It is very possible the manufacturer, Apple, does not take into account the factors effecting battery life. It is listed as being 12 hours but, I suspect, increased volumes may greatly reduce that. I've seen these die out at 5 hours of sem-continuous use. When one wants to block out external noise and enjoy the music to the hilt, the cost of that is constant, twice daily recharging. Purchased a used "Demo" pair of beats a few weeks ago. I lost a pair of Bose wireless and these were meant to replace them. The Bose wireless would tell me the devices they were connected to when I turned them on but the Beats do not. That was a feature I really liked! They would also tell me the battery % and they would announce the name or phone number of who was calling if I received a call while listening to something else. The Beats have an incredible sound! The bass is full and the mid and high tones are clear and crisp! They fit comfortably over my ears although I have an XL head (7 5/8" dia.) I can wear them for extended periods as long as I don't sweat. I play golf a lot and they won't work on the course or the range if the temp is too high. I don't recommend them for work ...
