Combining comic book style and geeky in-jokes, HEROES is a stellar series that draws comparisons to fan favorites such as LOST and THE X-FILES. But thanks to its well-drawn characters and intricate plot, this drama reels in more than just superhero fans. HEROES revolves around the premise of seemingly ordinary people developing fantastic powers. There's Claire (Hayden Panettiere, ICE PRINCESS), a Texas cheerleader who can't be killed. Matt (Greg Grunberg, ALIAS) is a cop in Los Angeles who can read minds. New Yorker Peter (Milo Ventimiglia, GILMORE GIRLS) has the power to adopt other heroes' abilities, while his politician brother (Adrian Pasdar, JUDGING AMY) has a special power of his own. Though the show boasts many other characters, its secret weapon is Hiro (Masi Oka), a Japanese office worker who is delighted to discover he can move through space and time. But heroes wouldn't be heroes if there weren't villains and a coming apocalypse to fight, and the show features a truly creepy bad guy in the seemingly omnipotent Sylar (Zachary Quinto). In addition to all the episodes from the first season, this release also includes a never-before-seen, 73-minute version of the show's pilot.

Don't believe the hype: though some critics and viewers decried the sophomore season of the hit fantasy series Heroes, the core of the program remained as strong as in its debut network run. To be sure, the 2007-2008 Writers Guild strike hobbled the show, and producers stumbled by stranding two of its most intriguing characters: Super-charged Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) is taken out of the action after being struck with amnesia, while Hiro (Masi Oka) is sent to feudal Japan, where he encounters his own idol, Takezo Kenzei (David Anders). Both are overcomplicated story arcs, even by Heroes standards, and their connection to the rest of the season occasionally requires some mental gymnastics. But the crux of the season--the Company's development of the power-draining Shanti virus and ... The introduction of new characters like the lethal Maya (Dania Ramirez) and Kristen Bell as the electrically charged (in both the literal and figurative sense) Elle Bishop also up the dramatic stakes, even if their presence may require a scorecard for some viewers. In short, the few kinks in the armor of Heroes: Season 2 ultimately don't detract from the show's drive and vision. Season two spreads its supplemental features across all four of its discs; chief among these are commentary tracks by the cast and crew on all eleven episodes. The participating talent ranges from creator Tim Kring and stars Ventimiglia, Oka, Quinto and Greg Grunberg to composers Lisa Coleman and Wendy Melvoin, which helps to provide a wide variety of information about almost every aspect of the show's production. Featurettes cover everything from the history of Takezo Kenzei to in-depth looks at scenes from the season, while "Untold Stories" explores storylines that were left unfinished due to the writers' strike. The key extras are, of course, the alternate ending to the season finale (which is unfortunately revealed by the rear cover-art text) and an info-heavy sneak peek at Season 3.

Excellent HD quality, I hope you enjoy it :)
The Heroes Blu-ray packaging is rather nice and I do like it. The blu-ray disc has a transparent coating,in which I don't normally see quite often. But,it plays fine just like any other blu-ray disc. Also, it has a nice Heroes artwork and interactive selection menus. I always like the Heroes collection and hoping one day I would purchase the Blu-ray version compared to the dvd version. The HD 1080p crystal clear quality is rather nice watching from one frame to the next. If you're a Heroes fan this would be the selected choice. A story line this big way not have it in Blu-ray :) Tim Kring has written a great story line as well the other creators from beginning to finish for the audience. Although,it was very disappointing it was cancelled at the end of the 4th season. It ... The Heroes Blu-ray packaging is rather nice and I do like it. Blu-Ray is the only way!!!!
When I first saw season one of Heroes I was immediately captivated. I've always loved X-Men so seeing a show with a similar premise really excited me, not to mention that it was live action. So buying it was basically the first thing I thought after the fourth episode. The Blu-Ray itself is amazing, but there are a few scenes that are fuzzy which stops me from rating it excellent. I've had it happen on other Blu-Ray's so I'm used to it, but it can be a bit distracting. Those scenes aside, the picture is amazing. The colors are so crisp they jump out at you. But what really drove me to buying the Blu-Ray are the special features. I haven't had a chance to explore everything but what I have seen really makes me happy. If you want more info on the episodes you can activate the Ucontrol which pops up with little tidbits, very much like pop up video (if anyone remembers that). Also, the menu face is absolutely gorgeous!! So if you're looking to buy, in my opinion, the best season of Heroes, Blu-Ray is the only way to go. The picture is great, the sound is amazing and it is an absolute treat for anyone who wants to add the show to their collection. Happy watching!! =)

Heroes Season 1
Heroes has to be one of the best series' out on tv. This Sci-Fi story is great all on its own. Being able to see it just makes it better! 23 episodes long, at around 43 minutes a piece means you wont get through the entire season in one day unless you REALLY want to! As good as this show is, you just might. I started watching episodes at around 11pm and stayed up until 6 am for almost two weeks going through both seasons! If you like sci-fi, super heroes with a modern twist and, suspense and frequent surprises all in one show, Heroes is something you'll want to get into!Heroes has to be one of the best series' out on tv. Heroes - Season 1 was purchased because of the action, drama, features, story lines, sequence, diversity of the casts, and major roles for non-typical cast members normally not portrayed on television. Another reason for purchasing this DVD was its blu-ray format - which reflects outstanding video imaging and an inspiring/impactful soundtrack.
