This sequel to Harmonix Music Systems' Frequency is designed to propel players through new levels of on-rails, rhythm-based shooting, to the tunes of top Sony recording artists including Crystal Method, Orbital, David Bowie, Weezer, Garbage, and others. As in the original, players ride a "loop" of music, triggering drum, bass, guitar, and other tracks with well-timed button taps.<br><br>With new backgrounds and graphical effects in a flashy, pulsing, neon-dreamlike style similar to that of the original game, Amplitude brings the rhythm-based play online through the PS2 Network Adaptor. In addition to chat modes and a ranking system, musically inclined gamers are able to post their favorite remixes online for others to access and enjoy.

    Amplitude

    This is a great game if you have a nack for music games, if not, it's still a great start. It's the successor to "Frequency" and does a few game play elements better. The only down side to this game is the taste in music genre. If you like pop, punk, and a little techno and rock/metal, you should have no problem with this game. I prefered part 1 because in that version you got more techno and metal with litte pop and slight rap. On the gameplay side it's a little tough to get into, but once you do, it's cake. Amplitude is a good game and the music quality and gameplay elements are strong, but not strong a enough for a complete 5 out of 5 because of my music taste. It gets a hands down 4 out of 5 for being another great music game.

    Ampiltude.., the underground sleeper of unltimate cool.

    Well, it is funny that you ask me. Especially about this game. I bought Amplitude because i found a demo of it in a buddy of mines stack of cd's. And low and behold.., i found a really fun out of this world addictive game. It is like DDR for your fingers. (Dance Dance Revolution.) You basically have to think and act really fast to a verity of nice music. My favortie song on this game is the one by David Bowie. Yeah i love math, speed reflexes, and music. So this game was right up my alley. But i never had anyone say it was cool, i just did it on one of my own whims and i found a sleeper. A truley gifted game with knock out attitude for fun and that old feel that the NES (The Old 8bit Nintendo) used to give you..., yes that feel that made you want to pull your hair out. It gets challenging ...

    Amplitude for PS2

    This game has been so much fun to play! My boyfriend said I should give it a try, so I bought it here on Ebay. During my free-time I can play a lot of my favorite songs and interact at several different difficulties. The graphics take some getting used to, but once you get in a groove, this game rocks! I recommend it to anyone that likes other Harmonics games (Rock Band, Guitar Hero, FreQuency).
