Worth buying very good for the money
I already have a Sony bx37 blu ray player that still works but it's starting to malfunction a little after having it in my home only a few short months. so I decided to purchase the Samsung bd-p1600 and it seems to work well much better then my sony model player my Samsung model has various apps, but I haven't tested the apps yet, but I plan to test them at some point, but for now watching blu ray disk will due and the upscaling feature works great for my standard DVD collection The only thing I can say that is negative is when you buy older model blu ray player you risk not being able to update the devices firmware, but on the plus side Samsung still carey's one new update for the bd-p1600 model, and this Samsung model can go wireless with a wifi stick, so my over all opinion of this ... Nice Blu-Ray player for a low price
This player is very sleek and attractive. No problems so far. It hooks up to your home internet connection and will allow you to stream Netflix movies (even with the minimum subscription, streamed movies are unlimited - though the selection is fairly limited). You can also search and stream YouTube. I bought it for the simple reason of getting out from under the cable company's charges for the premium channels - I like to watch movies. This gives, through Netflix, an excellent alternative and works well. I'll be contacting the cable company Monday and dropping the premium channels. The Blu-Ray player works very well. One annoyance (possibly with the format rather than the player) is that I am not allowed to skip the previews before I see the movie on a bluray disk. So, I pop the disk in 15 ... I have had this Samsung BD-P1600 Blu-ray player since 2006 and been updated and still plays everything i put in it.

its a good product if you plan not to use wireless
the product is very nice,, auto updates itself works quiet & and sleek look, the only downside ,, it says wireless ,if you dont read the fine print ,which is what i didn't do,, "optional" purchase dongle to get wireless, so there i was look for wireless signals only to find out need a very expensive dongle to get wireless that sucks!!!! so if you need wireless look for one that says like the visio vbr 334 ,which i had to buy after or you can spend the extra and buy the dongle for 1/3rd the price of the player.the product is very nice,, auto updates itself works quiet & and sleek look, the only downside ,, it says wireless ,if you dont read the fine print ,which is what i didn't do,, "optional" purchase dongle to get wireless, so there i was look for wireless signals only to find out need a very expensive dongle to get wireless that sucks!!!! so if you need wireless look for one that says like the visio vbr 334 ,which i had to buy after or you can spend the extra and buy the dongle for 1/3rd the price of the player.
