The Other April Fool's Day
WARNING: The following review contains spoilers! Do not read at your own risk! After a prank goes horribly wrong, a disfigured nerd (Simon Scuddamore) invites a group of stereotypical students for a deadly reunion of murder, mayhem, and mindless gore from the producers of FRIDAY THE 13TH and PIECES. Originally titled APRIL FOOL'S DAY, the makers were forced to change title due to another seminal 80's slasher film of the same name. Although the make-up effects are top-notch, the actors seem to be having a hard time hiding their English accents when they are supposed to be playing American students. Of the actor's that truly stand out are veteran scream queen Caroline Munro playing the lucious lead and Simon Scuddamore (who sadly passed on after the film's release) playing the tormented ... THIS IS ONE OF THE BETTER SLASHER FILMS!
SLAUGHTER HIGH is every bit as frightening to watch now as it was when it was released back in 1986. Harry Manfredini who was the composer for the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise also conducts this score with some eerie outrageous rock music. This is one film which benefits from being low budget. It is all about the mood, and atmosphere which is a positive thing. The kill scenes are also quite technical, and often original. I wanted to see this movie again because I recall how much I liked it when it was first released. It really is superior in terms of shock, and suspense than so many other slasher films being made in the genre back then. What we have here is an unknown cast which is not the least bit boring. Caroline Munro happens to be the only major star in the film. The plot centers around Marty Rantzen who is a student being humilated by a group of classmates in the worst ways possible. Things then turn for the worst when a fire starts in chemistry class leaving Marty permenantly burned. A high school class reunion is then held five years later for those responsible for all the humiliation. Everyone attends to find out that the school is locked up. It is now a mystery as to who sent out the invitations. In order for this reunion to take place a few of the former students decide to break in. Because a storm is coming everyone spends the night inside the school. Unfortunately no one knows a killer is on the loose.

Slaughter High DVD Review
I love horror movies. I loved the plot...it was one of the few times where you cheer on the killer instead of his victims. They got what they deserved. I didn't like how fast the characters seemed to die, one right after another. They died too quickly....GRUESOME yet quickly. But 10 people were his victims so there was lots of blood, guts, and gore.

remains a classic
this was a typical low budget movie from the 80s.it is a really good horror type movie if you think of what came out in the 80s.it sort of stands the test of time.this will remain a classic.it was the first time i seen this movie,but some of the killings were unique and creative for what they had for special effects then.some killing have never been seen before in other pictures.great
