Really works!
I mostly wear light boots with a sneaker-type sole, which only tend to last me 1-2 years. When the tough rubber outer layer has worn through, the underlying soft, spongy layer goes really fast, and also leaks water. So I’m really glad I found Shoe Goo. I took my two-year old boots, the heels of which were worn well into the soft layer. I first applied a 4-5 thin layers (which was surprisingly easy especially when I used the ice cube trick for smoothing). Having found that the stuff really does seem to stick in place when the boots are in use, I added almost the rest of the 3.7 oz tube of Shoe Goo. The outer edges of the heels are still a bit lower than new, but the boots are now perfectly usable again, and will hopefully be for several months. More important, I'm going to patch new boots ... Great stuff!
I used this to build up the heels on a pair of Nike walking shoes and it was perfect and long wearing. Use masking tape to create a dam around the back of the heel with the tape extending up above the worn heel surface. Sueeze a bead of the Shoe Goo around the edge and set the shoe upside down and level. The Goo will self level on the worn heel surface without having to spread it. Be sure surface is cleaned and slkightly roughened. Wait a couple of days until it is cimpletely air dried. Peel the masking tape off and your new heel will be created. Don't hurry it or spread it. Great stuff!
I have been a fan of shoe goo for years. This is the first time I tried the black. I wish I had found this years ago, I might still have my first pair of mickey mouse boots! I even used it to attach a phone holder to my dash. Rock solid hold!

Shoe Goo can multi task!
I recently purchased a two pack of shoe goo with the express intent of using the clear to repair two pair of winter boot soles and the black shoe goo to repair a weather crack in a tractor tire. I can report both efforts were successful by following the product directions and being cautious to not over or under use the product!

great stuff
I have saved many a shoe by repairing. Even use it on new shoes to make a "tap" on heel to slow down wear. Must use a wet finger when applying to keep Goo malleable.
