    Penguins Anyone?

    Morgan Freeman's hypnotic voice captivates you and draws you into an icy world that is undeniably beautiful. The plot... the arduous life cycle of penguins. Here we will meet a plethora of penguins doing exactly what penguins do. They eat, mate, birth, incubate and hatch. Sound simple? It really isn't as easy as you would think. We are shown hundreds of penguins trekking across the ever-frozen Antarctica from many different directions, as much as 70 miles on a mission to mate. Once they have mated (monogamously for the year)the mother proceeds to lay a single egg which she then rolls carefully from the top of her feet to the top of the father's feet where he is hidden beneath Dad until time to hatch. All assuming the egg will hatch at all. Predators are a chronic problem ...

    One Documentary You Don't Want To Miss!

    This is an incredible movie/documentary. Absolutely stunning, and this from a person who never watches animal shows or national geographic. I really never liked those but when I saw this movie, from the first minute I was hooked. Morgan Freedman narrates which I though was an excellent choice. The warmth in his tone goes well with this film. The documentary begins at the start of mating season, when the male penguins all leave the open waters of Antarctica for land/ice to meet the female penguins and begin their 9 month long mating process. They travel far distances to a central location far from the waters edge where the ice is snow to begin their mating ritual. But they are very choosy and they spend days examining one another in order to find the right mate- and even some go without. ...

    One of the Best Documentaries Made

    I had heard some things about 'March of the Penguins' alot.I enjoy documentaries about nature and have alot of them.Since hearing so much about this program,I become even more curious about it.Well,I made my purchase of the show,watched the program,and I was really taken by it.What I liked about the program is you see the animal as never before seen!I had no idea that a bird behave's in such a manor as they do,almost human if you will.I was amazed by their mating and chick raising rituals.If you watch the special features of this show,you'll also will see the devotion of the people who made the program.I do highly recommend the program to those who really enjoy nature and want to see these amazing animals as never imagined. Buy it,you won't be sorry!!

    A must see for all.

    The March of the Penguins This was a great film make sure you get the Widescreen Edition. The Filming is top notch and Morgan Freeman as the narrator cant be beat. The movie follows thousands of emperor penguins on there jouney to breed and raise their young.The jouney takes weeks of marching in single file across some of the Darkest,driest and coldest continent on the plantet.I took the hole family to see the movie when it first came out and they all enjoyed it very much.I learned alot about the Emperor Penguin from this movie it is a very educational film. From 38 to 5 years old all had a great time.     Visual & auditory are astounding; Amazing true story!

    This movie is one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen. It is also a moving and illuminating documentary about the lives of penguins. The cinematography is simply breath-taking. The sound track (and by that I mean both the sounds of nature - wind, weather, penguin communication - as well as the musical soundtrack) is wonderful. The music, although not a part of "nature" in the penguin's environment, is well chosen and becomes a complimentary part of the plot rather than a distraction. The narration, done by Morgan Freeman, was very moving. The narrative dialogue did make some assumptions about the penguins "own" thoughts, emotions and feelings that purists (scientists and others) might find too imaginative.
