    Great Photo Printer with Extra Features

    Shopping around for a photo printer can be a bit difficult, but I believe the Epson Styles Photo R200 is a good printer for those who cannot afford more advanced models. The Epson is pretty easy to install under both Windows (via the included install CDROM) and Linux (using the latest Gutenprint drivers). For any photo buffs, it comes with 6 different ink tanks, allowing for a wider variety of colors as well as the option to refill only the colors more often used. The R200 cleanly printed on both Photo paper and Printable cds, although one may want to get sealing spray to make sure then print does not smudge under moisture.     Buy Epson R200 Photo Series Now!!

    Epson doesn't make the R (200)series printers any longer. Why? Because you can refill the ink cartridge or get a CIS system and never have to pay Epson's outrageous prices for ink. In fact, you can look at it like this: Epson gives the printer away when you buy it NIB; what you are paying for is the actual INK. The Ink is where Epson is making the big bucks. People in the know are now charging outrageous prices for the R200 (a discontinued item) because they know it is a good printer for regular use and excellent for photos. So, it you find one, buy it. Then buy a CIS or CISS system for your model. It has been years since I've paid for ink. I have been trying to buy as many R200's as I can find under $75 because eventually the printer will wear out and you will need to discard ...

    Great printing quality!!

    I had Epon Stylus Photo R1900 and did many color printings on this. The quality of R200 is just as good as long as you are not printing big formats. The price is right and I'm happy with this purchase. The set up didn't require program installation and I used the same connetion to the R1900. Sad to say, as much I loved R1900, I could no longer clean the heads to recover the original quality in printing. Anyone having same problem and had it fixed, please advise what needs to be done?

    This unit works well but expensive ink and touchy unit.

    This unit works well for the money. When it was first introduced the price was expensive for the quality. It prints vibrant color, but slow on photo settings. The ink is very expensive. Be prepared to spend over $100 for all of the ink cartridges. The refillable ones cost twice as much and is messy. You can find ink listed on eBay from such sellers as the accstation for much less. The second issue with this unit is the cd tray. The printer when idle for a long period of time will take the tray and shoot it out the back of the printer, or the ink cartridges when preparing for print will run into the tray. Also, the tray fails to grab properly when starting to print, so you have to hold your hand on the tray to get it to grab most of the time. And, the tray fails to eject properly, thus ...

    Epson R200 Printer

    I now own two of these printers. I decided to find and buy another (Second) since they are no longer manufactured as a replacement incase the one I have owned for 5 years decided to fail. I purchased a Continuious Ink Flow System that feeds the ink to the six individual ink cartridges. Yes Six! Lowering to almost eliminating the purchase of ink per year. This printer also will print directly on a CD or DVD with the use of it's disc adapter. Great photo quality printing due to the individual (six) color cartridges. I have to rate it good instead of excellent because it's no longer manufactured and unless you purchase an ink flow system you might not find replacement cartridges.
