Love the book, a book that doesn't go out of style!
This was a great book. After seeing the 'Julie and Julia' movie I decided I wanted to check out the 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking' book. They are selling for so much right now. I read that the 'Julia Child's Kitchen' book was considered by many to be her best cookbook. So I purchased it thinking it would be fun to try some recipes. I love to cook, and am a very good cook. Most recipe books give exact measurements of every ingredient. Julia Child wrote the book the way I like to cook- with suggestions of substitutions, and additions to many if not most of her recipes. One can tell by the basic, yet rich full flavored tastes of her recipes that the influence is French. I'm a Frugal cook, and had much appreciation for her suggestions for substitutions and her conscientiousness ... This was a great book. An excellent read! It’s part story book part cook book
This is a great book for people who want to learn about French cooking but aren’t ready to dive into Mastering the Art. It is easy to read and comprehend.
