    N64 Hardware if your hardcore, novices have better options for N64 fun.

    It's hard to forget the glory gaming days the Nintendo 64 console brought us when it first hit the shelves over 15 years ago. The N64 was the top tier of hardware and the games that were released were considered the deepest and most entertaining library of software ever developed for a gaming platform. All that being said, a lot has changed since 1995 and the N64 does not translate so well when used along side of todays technology. When the N64 first arrived even though the graphics were groundbreaking they were famous for a "blurry" look even on standard definition TVs of the day and that problem is magnified by our HDTVs we use today, lets break down the biggest problems first.     Are the Flawed Controllers Worth the Stretch?

    The Nintendo 64 was everybody's favorite childhood system; it certainly was mine. With an excellent library of games, the N64 revolutionized 3D gaming. Of course, it is without its flaws. The Nintendo 64 console itself is very durable as I had mine for over 13 years, and it still works great! The problem I have with the console is the controllers. The controllers are faulty; I mean ALL N64 brand controllers have at least two faults to them. Let's start with the original N64 controller that comes with the system. The original has two flaws; the analog stick or joystick and the d-pad. The joystick becomes loose after a month of using it. Sometimes it becomes so loose that it is no longer usable. The d-pad becomes stiff after a period of time (3 months). It gets to the point where ...

    great system

    the great system no issues with it brings back some great memories 2 of the 3 games that came with it work wonderfully but the system did not come with the expansion pack which makes the DK64 unplayable but i can buy that later. only true quarrel i have with it is it say the power cord is OEM its clearly after market but it does work fine.

    A timeless system for all ages.

    The last great console to use cartridges. A system that was fun for all ages of its time. N64 introduced integrated 4-player functionality for the first time, and many games support the feature. System is very durable, and controllers will last just as long if taken care of and not abused. While it's library of games also feature games for a more mature audience, Nintendo is better known for its family friendly titles, such as, Mario World 64, Mario Kart 64, and many others. This is a great console for younger kids or those wishing to revisit their childhood. Overall the N64 is a very solid console that can still provide hours of entertainment even in the midst of today's more capable systems.

    Wow Factor Over-Shadows Price!

    First, we did buy this used, so we didn't pay much for this game console. So the WOW FACTOR over shadows what we paid for it. We got this game system for my six year old daughter, we were going to get het her a Nintendo 3DS, but like my wife pointed out she doesn't like to play by herself, so we would also be playing. Her main thing was she wanted to play Mario Bros. We just wanted her to get used to a bigger system, her previous video game is one of the plug in controllers with built-in Classic Atari Games, and a couple of PC Games. So before we get her a Wii or a 3DS, we'll see how this works out. I do know the Game Console came in GREAT! condition as well as the Controller and the included games.
