Product Information

A high school rebel and a minister's daughter find strength in each other in this star-crossed tale of "young but everlasting love" ( Chicago Sun-Times ). There was a time when the world was sweeter....when the women in Beaufort, North Carolina, wore dresses, and the men donned hats.... Every April, when the wind smells of both the sea and lilacs, Landon Carter remembers 1958, his last year at Beaufort High. Landon had dated a girl or two, and even once sworn that he'd been in love. Certainly the last person he thought he'd fall for was Jamie, the shy, almost ethereal daughter of the town's Baptist minister....Jamie, who was destined to show him the depths of the human heart-and the joy and pain of living. The inspiration for this novel came from Nicholas Sparks's sister: her life and her courage. From the internationally bestselling author Nicholas Sparks, comes his most moving story yet....

Landon looks back on his life, and how it changed when he was seventeen. He is a senior in high school that year, in his small town in North Carolina. His father, a politician who is never home much, is worried about Landon getting into college with his grades and lack of activities, so he pressures Landon into running for class president. Although Landon isn't very excited about the idea, he does it and wins. That means he has to find a date for a dance on very short notice, since all class officers have to attend and Landon doesn't want to go by himself. He hadn't planned on going, and he knows most of the girls he knows already have dates. In desperation, he asks Jamie Sullivan, daughter of a local preacher whose wife died when Jamie was born. Jamie is very odd and ...

  • A walk down the aisle of marriage.

An excellent fiction of a dying teen aged girl and the young man she marries. A tad brief, maybe more like a novella, the story nevertheless is filled with power and emotion.

  • A Walk to Remember

Loved it! No pretenses just good old down to earth boy meets girl, falls in love. Wasn't that easy or cut and dry. He had a lot of growing up to do. This book teaches one how you really can't judge a book by its cover. It touches all of us because the majority of us think like he does and realizes that to think like she does is how we all should think. How we are so uncapable of even relating to her because she is so pure, so right, so happy, so giving...we tend to hate those people! He learns to be like her and that he can do it and so can we...if we're strong enough and don't let what people think interfer. Know that if you follow God's way...that's it. That is the answer. Great for both boys and girls. Hear there is a movie by the same name. ...
