Tom Hanks is Chuck Noland, a man in a hurry. His job for Federal Express has him traveling the world on a moment's notice, exhorting the company's employees to speed things up--"never turn your back on the clock." When he's suddenly called away for business on Christmas night, his tolerant longtime girlfriend Kelly (Helen Hunt) drives him to the airport. They have their Christmas in the car--and Chuck plunks an engagement ring into her lap right before he gets on the plane, telling her, "I'll be right back." But an unexpected storm cuts the plane's crew off from radio contact and blows them off course. Chuck is the sole survivor of the resulting crash, and washes up on a completely deserted island. Stranded there, he must give up everything that he once took for granted and learn how to survive all alone in the wilderness. From director Robert Zemeckis, CAST AWAY is a story of adventure and discovery surrounding one man's will to stay alive.

    Cast Away

    This is one of Tom Hanks best films yet! I certainly enjoyed it. Tom Hanks plays a play called Chuck Noland who works for Federal Express, who's always on the go at a moment's notice. He's called away for business on Christmas night and his girlfriend and he have Christmas in their car. When he leaves the car the last thing he says to her is that he'll be right back. Well that doesn't happen. The plane ends up in an unexpected storm, they lose radio contact, they go off course and it crashes. Chuck is the sole survivor of the crash, and washes ashore of a deserted island. While stranded there, he must learn how to survive in the wilderness by himself. A definite must see.

    My favorite movie you don't watch it you experience it.

    This is my favorite movie. The reason is because it taught me when life gets unbearable, to just breathe. I loved this movie and it is not often I find a movie that has real value to me. It is about a guy who crash landed on a remote island. He is forced to survive on his own. It is a slow paced movie but fast enough to be appropriate for the story line. If you love the ocean and like Tom Hanks, get yourself a copy

    Excellent story.

    I used to own this movie, but loaned it out and never got it back. It is such a good movie, I had to replace it. Tom Hanks is incredible as a man who lives by the clock and is then thrust into a situation where the clock means nothing. A "must see" movie. Younger viewers (I'd say under age 10 or so) might not understand the phychological changes he goes through, and a few scenes might be a bit intense for the young ones, but over-all, this is a fantastic story. Gather up your snacks before you start watching, because you're not going to want to pause this one. This is one of those you will watch again.

    WILSON!!!

    WILSON!!! If that isn't enough reason to watch, check out Tom Hanks and Helen Hunts remarkable performances in their roles. The two DVD set gives us some great features.
