Jesus Freak ressurection
This is an incredible album. Thank you guys for another higher powered one. I have to say I don't agree with the guy who gave it bad reviews. It must be Kevin Max posing as someone else. The appeal and strength of the original ‘Jesus Freak’ album was so high that it almost seems impossible for anyone to re-do it and sustain the same type of gargantuan popularity. However, I have to say this compilation comes pretty close especially for long time freak fans like me. Even if the unmatched vocals of Kevin and the wonderful, beautiful range of Michael Tate, its original carriers are absent, these songs still hit home with a high note. Most fans of Dc Talk have heard these song a million times and quite frankly may have become tired of them. But the appeal of the original has been the lyrical ... This is an incredible album. Most fans of Dc Talk have heard these song a million times and quite frankly may have become tired of them. But the appeal of the original has been the lyrical genius of Dc talk’s old front man, now Goatee producer Toby Mckeehan(Toby Mac), Mark Heimermaan, KMax and others who created such poetic hard hitting ditties about an enduring and timeless mystery. While the music has gotten old, the concepts never will and to put them in a vehicle of fresh new arrangements with new artists, I think was quite brilliant. Firstly. You get two versions of Dc Talk's original cross over single hit, "Just between you and me" that contain fresh, beautiful and creative vocals while simultaneously being faithful to the original. Just these two songs would have made the album worth buying. However, this albums appeal does not end there but more creative and surprisingly lovable renditions of the old classics await your hearing pallet. Notable among these are Third Avenue Jones's rendition of the title song "Jesus Freak" and Sarah Kelly's haunting rendition of "What if I stumble". This latter song, which was kind of pastoral and a sort of intermission in the original is quite a gem in this great tribute album. But wait, that’s not all. Ayiesha Woods vocals are gems every time she appears on this album stretching its creativity range to almost unscalable. ‘ Colored people, a great thematic song in the original has almost been surpassed in this rendition mainly due to her enviable R & B type vocals. If I were the producer, I would have either softened up or done without the harder versions of "Jesus Freak" and “Mind’s eye”, but I am now 42 and never understood the sound that kids are listening to these days. Hard as these seem, they are still better than the other devil crap crowding the radio airways. There is an update about Mrs. Morgan and also another spoof of “What will people think, When they hear I am a Jesus freak” in the tradition of the original's artistic digressions. All these things combined with other elements I will not mention for reasons of being concise, make this album great not only for old Dc Talk fans who should be pleasantly surprised by its freshness but also for some new fans seeking to explore and find good music and especially those seeking to know God. I hope this music points you squarely to the one who loves you dearly. What more can I say? I know I am baised. This album like old Dc Talk signature work has variety and authentic artistic creativity and (like its original version) might even have a stamp of approval from some higher places and powers. I love this album almost as much as I love the original. It picks me up if I am in the doldrums and gets me grounded once again on the eternal truth of God’s love, forgiveness and love for others. I hope it does the same for you.

GREAT CD!!!!!!
This CD is a wonderful tribute to one of the best CD's of the 1990's. DC Talk was ahead of their time one the original "Jesus Freak", and this CD just celebrated it even more! I HIGHLY suggest it!
