    Tom of the Golden Bird ~Elizabeth Peters~ (2006)

    I have been reading Ms. Peter's mystery novels for about 20 years now! I always enjoy whatever genre she writes about, whether is her famous Amelia Peabody or her adventure fiction and her novels with a supernatural twist. This book was great as usual - but not up to par with other of her Amelia masterpieces. I do like the fact that passage of time is felt thru Amelia's narrative of how her life has evolved. I just think there is an element present in other of her previous books that is not in this one. While I am patiently waiting for the next installment, I find myself hoping to see that missing element back in her books. I cannot deny nevertheless, this novel is fun to read, full of twists, and surprises. Another book recommended for your reading treasure trove, if you haven't read her ...

    Amelia is at it again!

    I loved the adventures of Amelia Peabody and her family and have read every one of the books. Helped me learn a lot about Egyptian history and the time period that Amelia was living there. Highly recommend this wonderful and well written mystery, suspense and adventure series. Yet this book left me feeling as if author was ending the series. She took many of the characters and gave them different directions. I liked the suspense and thrilling adventures and hate to see it end, but I guess all good things come to an end. YES do read this, you will want to know what happens to the family and friends of the Emersons. I have read some of the other Peters books and none compare to this series, it must have been her favorite.

    toomb of the golden bird

    this is one of the latest in elizabeth peters' "amelia peabody" series, which started in the late 1800's and is now taking place after world war 1 in egypt, as usual. i've been reading her for years and enjoy it more and more. it's been a great journey seeing how the world and its atitudes have changed ovr a period of 30+ years from a strong woman's viewpoint. and if you enjoy archeology/egyptology at all, it's a bonus for you as well. am eagerly looking forward to this series continuing for many years to come.

    Great series! I love Amelia Peabody

    This is another adventure of Amelia Peabody & her entire family. Wonderful happenings, one right after another, very compelling. I have a hard time not finishing Elizabeth Peters books too fast, sending me looking for another to read.
