Product Information

Barbarian is a melee-oriented adventure game with large, interactive arenas and a player-directed non-linear storyline. A powerful and evil being known only as Zaugg has cursed the land of Barbaria with his merciless greed and vile magic. Despair blankets the countryside, but the ancient prophecies that warned of these dark days also spoke of a great hero who would eventually rise to strike down the villain and free the land from his dreadful curse. Brave and powerful warriors from all walks of life in Barbaria now come forward, each with his or her own personal motivation to seek the destruction of the evil Zaugg.<br><br>Barbarian features ten playable characters, each with a different style and blend of skills. The bold Dagan and the princess Keela seek vengeance for lost loved ones who fell at the hand of Zaugg. Others, such as the undead Oops and the cruel Malik, have suffered as minions of Zaugg and now seek to destroy their former master. Each of the characters faces a unique adventure featuring over 30 different quests to follow in the order of the player's choosing. Characters can also meet for one-time battles in the game's versus mode, which supports up to four players through the PS2's multitap.

This was my 2nd attempt to get this game from eBay, as my 1st attempt (not from this seller) didn't work since the game crashed at a certain point. Thankfully, however, this 2nd one I got seems to work fine so far, so I can definitely say this is working fine!

    A decent playstation brawl game

    Barbarian gives you exactly what it says it does: an landscape reliant fighter similar to One Piece: Grand Battle with ten or so barbaric characters to choose from. The game relies on your normal physical attacks as well as ranged attacks, but also allows you to grab objects from the enviornment and chuck them at your opponents. You are given free range over the stage to run wherever you want unlike traditional 2D style 3D fighters. As far as cinematic value, the title is about all you will see. However, during the loading screens you can move the word "loading" as well as the bobbing skull around with the left and right analog sticks...if...you are really that bored... The other downside to this game is that there are really no unlockables. Overall, this game is pretty average for an old ...

    Barbarian - an average experience

    This game has a bit of a learning curve for those over 30 years old. The opponents get progressively harder as the game unfolds which puts more stress on the carpal tunnel issues. This is a young gamers game but, frankly the young won't be interested compared to the more elaborate RPG's out there today.

    It's just fighting

    I bought this game because I saw the graphics and I liked them, but never thought it was just another fighting game, much like Mortal Kombat, and not a puzzle solving like Akuchi the heartless. It is interesting, but for me, after the second fight, I just don't want to go a third time. It is good, but not for me...
