À propos de ce produit

Product Information

This sequel to one of the most widely acclaimed console releases of 2003 returns players to a galaxy far, far away, and an especially longtime ago. Set 4,000 years before the events of the Star Wars: Episode I film, this second role-playing adventure takes place five years after the events of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Players take the role of an exiled Jedi, who is believed to be the last of the noble order and is being actively hunted by the Sith. Beginning the game as a Jedi, players can choose which Jedi class their character will be, but as they start off as a beleaguered fugitive, they'll have no light saber, and they'll need to work to develop their special skills and powers.

This sequel refines the interface for easier navigation, and offers many new force powers for characters to learn, but the gameplay's third-person exploration and turn-based combat should feel familiar to fans of the original. Once again, through their decisions and actions, players will develop their characters toward the Light or Dark side of the Force, and the way that they progress down the path of Good or Evil will have great influence over the story and will determine which characters are willing to join their party. The game follows its own original storyline, but a number of characters and events from the first game are referenced.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II -- The Sith Lords is the first game developed by Obsidian Entertainment, a studio founded by former Black Isle and Blizzard designers. The sub-series' original creator, BioWare, has ties to Obsidian and its team of veteran developers, and was also involved in the design of this sequel.

  • Great Game, Only With Unofficial Patch

I bought this game back when it came out. I tried playing through it, but there were so many bugs and disjointed missions that just didn't seem to complete, though they did complete, I gave up on it and gave the game away. Well, after recently replaying KotOR I, which is one of my all time favorite games, I decided to give this game another shot after seeing the modding community fix the bugs and the story in KotOR II. The game is now much better and plays essentially the same as KotOR, except there's an influence system where you can have an effect on your companions, and deeper weapon/item creation systems along with a few more light saber/force powers. The story is pretty good and your character development is a bit deeper than the one in KotOR. Gameplay is near identical to KotOR as ...

  • Vista & ATI users beware

This game seems to be good, but if you try to use it under Vista and Windows 7, you will have to do some patching. The automatic patching program included in the game does not work. You need to download the patch from lucusartsgames. Then, you need to download a "Vista fix" from filefront. http://www.filefront.com/9398284/TSL-Windows-Vista-Fix/ Find the Knights of the Old Republic 2 section and download that or the game won't launch. Next, you need to set all the .exe files in the game directory in Program Files to Windows 2000 compatibility mode. Finally, the SecurROM copy protection may malfunction. Forcing you to download a crack from gamecopyworld that may or may not be considered legal in your jurisdiction. Finally, if you have an ATI Graphics card or chipset, you will need to add ...

  • Story delivers, ending does not

If you played KotOR 1, I recomend you play this one too. The play style is much the same. The only thing they added are some new force powers. Aside from that, the controls, UI, and actions are basically all the same. The story in this one is much different than the last, although the last one does tie into this one. Depending on certain answers you give to questions about what happened in the last game, certain things will be said/heard later on. One of my favorite parts about this one rather than the first was the ability to influence your crew. I thought this was a great additino. By doing things, evil or good, you gain influence or lose it with members of your crew. ALso, your alignment greatly affects theirs as well. Some you can even teach to be Jedi, with enough influence. ...

  • A Good Sequal to a Great Game

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 (KOTOR2 henceforth) is a fitting, turn based combat rpg following up the story five years after the events in KOTOR1. For me it featured about 25-30 hours of solid playing time, fairly good for the genre. Like it's original, KOTOR2 delivers a riveting storyline and a great cast of characters. In a way, you can't help but feel like the director of your own Star Wars movie. I'd like to point out the problems, and I'm sure they're mostly on my end. I'm running a rather new Vista based computer. I was exceptionally happy with the fact it played (after the gameplay patch anyway). The graphics are good quality, but it didn't feel like to huge of an upgrade from KOTOR. A lot of times things feel somewhat incomplete and just barely shelf worthy. There are ...

  • Good Sequel - Worthy of the original

The makers did the right thing when they released Sith Lords. The original KotOR was a break through in gameplay and had a jaw-dropping story line. Sith Lords takes that foundation and builds on it. Improving on some of the buggy game mechanics in the first game and adding a few new features definitely made the sequel a lot of fun. The only place where this game lacked was in its story line. It lacked the epic grandness of the first game with its twists and turns, the fate of the galaxy hinging on your decisions. This game's story was much more subtle, psychological, and introspective. Not a bad plot by any means, but I didn't have moments of awe and surprise like I did in the first game. Overall, If you enjoyed KotOR1, then you will definitely like this game. I'd pick it up and give it ...
