EliteGroup K7S5A Pro is a Socket-A mainboard designed for AMD K7 processors. You can install any one of these processors on the mainboard. The mainboard supports front-side bus speeds of 266MHz. This mainboard uses the SiS735 chipset supporting a 4X AGP slot for highly graphics display, 100/133 MHz DDR/SDR, and Ultra DMA 33/66/100 function to provide outstanding high system performance under all types of system operations. The mainboard has a built-in AC97 Codec, provides an AMR (Audio Modem Riser) slot to support Audio and Modem application, and has a built-in 10BaseT/100BaseTX Network Interface. In addition, the mainboard has an extended set of ATX I/O ports including PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, one parallel port, and one serial port. Supports maximum ten USB ports - four back-panel ports and onboard USB header providing six extra ports by connecting the Extended USB Module to the mainboard. This mainboard has all the features you need to develop a powerful multimedia workstation. The board is ATX size and has power connectors for an ATX power supply.

Great motherboard for video editing systems using Matrox Capture Cards
I was putting together a desktop video editing system, and had recently purchased a Matrox RT2500 video capture card. The card is very particular about which motherboards you use with it. Unfortunately the card didn't work well with my MSI KT4V board. I looked at Matrox's website, and they listed the K7S5A Pro Socket A Motherboard as being compatable. I found one on E-bay and purchased it. It worked like a champ! Video editing is extremely smooth, no more lock-ups. Elite K7S5A Pro Motherboard is a big improvement on the prior versions.
The Elite Motherboard K7S5A Pro is now "old" technology, but I have been assembling several computers for a non-profit youth organization that is developing teams to learn how to develop Lego Robotics with the intention to compete in the local, state, national and international competitions. The Lego Robotics software only requires Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3) and this motherboard is still excellent for the purpose, particularly as the teams will not require internet access. This is the fourth computer I have built using the K7S5A motherboards, but all the previous ones were Version 3.1.
